  i dont know lloyd evans, im not an active member of any ex-jw group (except this one i guess).

  Joeyjojo Jeff T The issue is accusations of implied child abuse because he had sex with prostitutes in Thailand. A doesn't necessarily imply B.

  The point is not that we think he had sex with minors, necessarily.
  

  The point is he is an advocate for victims of child sex abuse.

  Yet.....he's using an industry where over half the prostitutes are kids, or began as kids, and that he doesn't care about that, showing zero remorse when it was pointed out.

  This despite the fact he pushed his way in to being a core participant into the ICCSA investigation in the UK. He used a lawyer to demand a place because they didn't initially want him since he had no 'legitimate interest'. Not being a child protection expert nor a victim or parent of a victim - as ICCSA termed it, he wasnt a suitable participant.

  He simply used it to drive more you tube content and donations, instead of standing aside for others who worked on it from the beginning/victims/counsellors etc

  You do have a point there, Stan. I do wonder if we are just feeding the monster ego.

  To answer JoJo:

  The mega thread is kept alive in order that when googling Watchtower, new exjws and mainstream media are aware of his behaviour & that he's not an appropriate "go to" for info about watchtower with regard to CSA.

  The problem we have is that he's always used exjws as a giant cash cow and doesn't give a monkeys about victims of CSA. If he did he wouldn't dream of using victims of the sex trade in Eastern Europe and Thailand. Both places notorious for coercing vulnerable and addicted women, who have usually been trafficked or pimped beginning as minors.

  NB It's sad its caused another massive rift between exjws. I think some younger people think this is all about being morally judgemental, but that's not so. I've lived long enough to know the absolute harm prostitution does to women (and young rent boys, too).

  a couple of my wife's friends are married to non witnesses.

  they say jehovah must have special plans for them.

  and that it is a special exception not destruction, alas, they are not attractive so my special idea about polygamy won't cut it.

  The official teaching is destruction despite what these women think. You know; " big enemies of God".

  Well the official teaching has changed then because the Bible teaches non believing spouses are "protected" by God in honour of their believing mate.....so....don't know how Watchtower gets around that one. It's pretty much in black and white Cor 7:14

  A new generation of anointed that will not pass away.

  obviously, the older “ anointed ” from 1914 died.

  and because they were anointed, they hopefully went to heaven.

  in the first century though, a newer generation did not replace the old.

  "Distaining" and no longer believing are too different things. I think his question appeared genuine. Remember all of us on here are either believers or were believers, not just in God but in Christianity (although you don't class it as such, that's what we believed we were). In fact many of us trully wish we still believed and look for reasons to do so......so questions like this are not uncommon.

  several years ago i was having a conversation with a neighbor inside a store and he told me that he was in the park one day with a friend who was then struck by lightning and after a few moments after being struck they walked away from there and while they were walking away my neighbor told me that his friend got hit by lightning a second time ki&&ing him.

  after telling me this story lightning struck and we heard thunder.

  DJW In a number of respects I think my life was better in 1995 than it is now. I also think the internet was better

  100%. I don't know if it's a sign of getting old but with the exception of having my children, I'd take the 90s any day. In fact, I'd take my kids back to the 90s for their own well being and safety.

  I also think the people online back in (1998 for me) were a more interesting crowd.

  Edit: Punky also don't quite understand lightening story but it was interesting nonetheless.

  LUHE Jesus explicitly said that nobody (including the governing body, presumably) knows the exact date of armageddon, not the angels in heaven, nor the son, only the father.

  So, how the hell can JWs claim that the big-A is sooo close? They don't know the date, lol.

  Do they know the year? If not, do they know the decade?

  If not the decade, do they know which century it will happen in?

  The whole thing about armageddon being sooo close is madness, a form of mental illness.

  EXACTLY!! I mean the watchtower is always saying "Jehovah is not slow, as to his promises...blah blah" and that it's because "a day is as a thousand years" etc.

  So in that case, as you say LUHE, can they even know the millennium of Jehovah's date....No they bloody cannot!!!

  I'm not sure I understand.

  Firstly, have they not already said there will come a time when JWs will be led by helpers only, because all anointed will be in heaven? Also, is it not the case you can be anointed without being a member of the over-fappers? In fact you can be anointed and not be the Slave, so....?? Or am I way off base!
