  PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

  i saw in the news where a teacher got mad at a student for coming in late during the pledge of allegiance and threw them against a wall and so the student was suing.. this made me want to ask, jehovah's witnesses stand up during the pledge of allegiance along with everyone else.

  why is that ok but, it wasn't ok for shadrach , meshach and abednego to bow down to the king's idol ?

  if the command had been for everyone who was sitting to stand at attention for the idol, wouldn't that have been the same thing ?

  I think the standing is about not showing disrespect, rather than showing allegiance.

  However I do very much take your point.

  The instructor proceeded to explain that, instead, it is announced that John Doe has disassociated himself from the congregation.

  Exactly FFreek 2005 it's a distinction without a difference. In this case they don't DF purely for legal reasons. Same for taking a blood transfusion. If watchtower kicked people out for joining up, taking blood or voting they'd be prosecuted by governments because every citizen has a right to those things in a democracy. Suffrage is universal and they'd be in hot water pretty quick if they forbade that, too. So as with joining up they DA.

  Edenone This is crucial. And here comes where the Watchtower policies and culture come to play.

  I remember when I was younger we had knowledge of serious domestic abuse (physical elder abuse) perpetrated by a neighbour. We were forbidden by the elders to go to the police.....literally told "it's against our religion, we must remain neutral".

  (Compare Elder book directive if the hall is graffitied, or damaged).

  If it doesn't affect or harm Watchtower....don't bother. Ever. It's really that simple.

  It really boils down to the following:-

  Obey

  Donate

  Recruit

  Anything outside of this is a wasted expenditure of energy that could be utilized by Watchtower.

  i think you all know me as a person who has always strived, despite my imperfections to only ever wanting to be and remain in the “truth”.

  it is in fact what i so desperately want for my son ashton and my baby girl honey bee, to be lovers of truth and grow up to be a loyal servants of jehovah god and his son, jesus christ.

  Gavindit I appreciate your letter and welcome to the board. I truly hope your little girl didn't get the jab. My teenage son's got the virus (were barely ill for a day) and yet they claimed natural immunity was less effective than the vaccine. As a nurse I'd never heard anything so ridiculous. I was also aware of the cardiac issuers among the young so I stopped them having any more vaccines after the first (which I regret giving them)

  So far as the anonymous letter goes, the police wouldn't have acted if the letter was signed because their interview with him produced no verifiable result.

  I'm not sure it's that simple. Because the letter was unsigned all they could do was check his weapons were securely stored, which they were other than one bullet (Frankly I'm amazed they even did that with an anonymous allegation).However if someone had signed the letter they may have been to verify from the sender what exact issues (or boxes to tick, if you like) they require in order to take further steps.

  Made up field service experience at yesterday's Public Talk

  remember the made up stories of witnesses in djibouti,africa where they had to walk 2 days in alligator infested waters with no shoes in the blazing sun to attend the meetings?

  they made it to the meetings in these terrible conditions.. talk about made up stories!

  here is a field service experience that was told at yesterday's public talk which would fall into the made up stories!.

  Edit: I've since found out a lot of their stories were pinched from other denominations.

  36 publisher's were present in the hall with another 25 via zoom.

  RaymondFrantz It was the police chief that said they thought the man suffered from a mental illness. Just reading excepts from his book and website makes that fairly plain, I think.

  By everything I've read this man was severely mentally ill.

  Any other religion would probably have seen the signs and referred him to mental health specialists etc. JW elders just disfellowship him for "apostasy".

  Of course it's horrific and unconscionable. I'll get berated for saying this but I really do think the absurd obsession with sticking to "policy" rather than doing the compassionate thing has resulted in an absolute tragedy. Maybe this man was able to completely hide his mental illness from the elders, but I *very much doubt it*.

  I'm not blaming anyone personally. I do think watchtower policy may have played a role.

  I noticed the death toll rose to seven. Probably a victim refusing a blood transfusion. I hope if any are found unconscious the surgeons and paramedics administer blood before the HLC arrives (not sure if they function in Germany - aren't there a few countries which don't allow it?). I'll probably get slated for saying that but there it is. I don't want them to die so sue me.

  How bloody awful. Of course Watchtower will be delighted to use this for propaganda purposes, completely taking any focus the publishers might have had toward the child abuse news away and reinforcing their persecution complex.

  Well Minimus, me dear old mucker .....sadly you may be no longer with us, but you were right about this one. The research is in - and the bloody things are useless.

  Well I was told that in nursing school 30 years ago🙄Even the paper surgical ones are only good for three minutes then the moisture from your breath makes them useful to stop the surgeons false teeth from falling into an open wound, and not much else.

  My old obsession hand washing and social distancing were only ever the really effective actions we could take to avoid getting, or giving, viruses including COVID.
