Samuel Herd always looks depressed.
He reminds me of Eeyore.
in 2008 i was baptized into the truth after leaving a trinitarian faith.
during my eight years as a jehovah’s witness, i strived to keep the standards set by the bible, wt and the faithfull and discrete slave.
but unfortunately, the congregational elders from the kingdom hall i attended were not keeping to jehovah’s standards, hence, wrote my letter of resignation.
Leslie have you read "Crises of Conscience" by Governing Body member Ray Franz ? ,(He also disassociated). If not please, please obtain a copy asap. I think it will clear so much up for you.
Watchtower directs the elders to have no compassion to those who are different in any way. They make no allowances for the sick, the elderly, those with differences of neurological development or depression etc It's just incredibly unloving. I'm very sorry for your situation.
i had to post this on jwdotnet.. probably one of the best exjw videos i've ever seen.. watchtower criticism is jehovah's witness advocacy!.

Watchtower CRITICISM is Jehovah's Witness ADVOCACY!

Fisherman Yeah. If it is illegal in UK, JW cannot do that anymore. In the US it is legal. I can’t see why it should not be legal to collect information. It is being done all of the time by different entities so why target JW unless it is a pretext to get back at them.
You are right Fisher One. Tec companies do it all the time making a small fortune out of our personal information and shopping habits. I suppose the difference is consent. Though few of us churn through the small print to find out how they're using it - witnesses collate info without informing us at all. Not even in the small print!! There is no reciprocal benefit as there is with the Tec companies since we use their product. If you're referring to governments etc, the same could be said for them....there is a degree of reciprocity. Watchtower only ever does anything with itself in mind!

Ixonegal I refused to witness to them because I felt it was wrong for me as I was someone that they trusted to keep their information private. When I took the job at work, I was bound to ethical and confidentiality rules.
Vintage I'm not sure if Ixonegal is still on the site if it's been a year since she posted. Whoever she is, she's a rare and conscientious witness not to break "worldly" confidentiality for the organisation. Without wanting to cause offense here, I have to say I've found these principals tend to be found among converts, rather than those raised in.
They use the scripture about following God's rules, rather than men's, to excuse breaking their ethics.
But of course God doesn't ask you to break professional (& personal) codes of conduct. Watchtower does. They have no respect for anyone. You are more likely to loose trust than gain it among clients, patients, colleagues and friends if they believe you cannot be trusted not to break a confidence. I've heard of numerous nurses informing elders of information they came about during the course of their duties. Information they have promised not to reveal outside of the healthcare setting without prior consent.
Orphan Crow Has done AMAZING work in this area of watchtower targeting vulnerable groups. Particularly first Nations and indigenous people & those small languages groups that watchtower obtains grants to preach to, because they are publishing in minority languages. Also on watchtower, blood & their military contacts. I highly recommend folks check out her posts on these subjects.
Vintage I highly commend your idea. I only wish I could help. I used to use makaton with my special needs kiddies many years ago but I'm very rusty!

Also, Dijana appears to have a huge extended family, with Lloyd commenting that she had "millions of cousins" and spoke of staying at her grandfather's and uncle's place.
Well that answers one of my questions, then. There are cousin's.
Lloyd claimed Dijana didn't have a "cousin named Marko". Probably an intentional obfuscation since "Marko" was a pseudonym and anyway claimed to be married to a cousin.
looking for references that talk about witnesses not being able to hold any private interpretation or belief that isn't in line with official doctrine.
.
i know i've seen them before but of course now i can't find any of the more in your face statements..
Watchtower 62 6/15 "Avoid unprofitable questions" discusses not questioning official JW doctrine.
Watchtower 67 1/10 "following Faithful shepherds with life in view"
"be complete in accepting the visible organization's direction in every aspect". There is no need to question what God tells them through his Word and organization since love "believes all things"

I honestly think all this stuff about drunken fondling of daughter-in-law's is hooey. Morris is a hard line witness he's very unlikely to behave like that ( unless he was going into diabetic coma etc). As far as I'm aware he has a deep love for his wife and sons.
Rather than being in the wrong I think it's far more likely it's Morris that's taken the hard line in a clash over doctrine or policy. (The others Possibly using Morris' fondness for alcohol as an excuse to have him removed).
They may have clashed over Serena Williams being allowed to publicly associate with political organizations like the NAACP without any consequences. It may seem petty but old style JWs would take a very dim view of it and you'd never get away with it back in the day.
As to finances, provided he hasn't been DF (very unlikely), he'll be taken care of by the organization. They will have learned their lesson from Ray Franz. Anyway he still has a US veterans (active service) pension to fall back on.
we all know that despite many scriptures to the contrary, jw's believe that when they die, their consciousness will cease.
my question is this: what will be the likely reaction of jw's if they find themselves conscious after death?.
Fisherman Although we probably don't share the same views, thank you for at least engaging with me. I appreciate it.
I think people who make veiled threats about what will happen after death, without at least being willing to debate....well....shouldn't.

I think the Governing Body update says it all.
They show a shot of someone pouring alcohol. Then they go on to talk about egotism and always thinking you are right. They follow it up with a bit on showing humility in spirit and attending the memorial despite your differences with your brothers.
It's like a giant local needs for Toni 😂😂😭
