Very good... if you would buy that line? I mean if you came to my door and said you know my loved one is coming back to life. I would probably act like I did not speak English to get you off my porch. It is hard for me to realize that my parents are so WEAK minded. My Dad for joining, and my Mom for doing everything my Dad says. Pathetic. I will never be like that. Life lesson learned I guess. I pray everyday they wake up from the hypnosis. I dont even think they really believe all that craziness. I think they are just comfortable and not good with change. Maybe I was adopted :-)

Damn it has been like 30 years since then. When is he going snap out of it? Is there really a chance he is explaining all this non-sense to himself? How could be be finding all the answers with those crazy people?
My bad had to vent. I really don't get it though.

I was raised one of JW. Before I was born my Dad joined when two JWs came to our house around the same time my grandpa (my dad's dad) died. I remember my Mom telling me that my Dad took this very hard. At the time he was also questioning the Cathlic Church and not getting answers I guess. My Dad is very smart. A book worm that loves Shakespear, History books, and of course the WTS publications along side the Bible. Growing up, in my eyes, he knew everything. The beliefs of the JW are so far fetched though. What do you think made him quit associating with his family, quit holidays, and go at such a weird life change? I was just wondering what made some of you join after being subjected to freedom your whole life. What drew you?

I hate that it gets to me!!
by Newborn injust back from lunch and met two different former good friends from my congregation (i live in a small town) and they, of course, turned their backs on me... and it makes me feel strange and bad even though they're the ones who should really feel bad.... how can i learn to ignore it??.
makes me both sad and angry at the same time.

I think alot of them are ashamed of the way they treat us really. They have a big head about it till they have to explain their actions to the "world" they live in. Whenever I do get to speak to my family they seemed concerned that I tell anyone how they treat me. Shouldn't you be proud of what you believe. They always say that people just dont understand. Yeah no one understands but you closed minded robots. GO BORG!!!

"not a good example"
by LoriJis ini have a concern i guess or just want to vent.
my husband and i - as most of you know - we're married just a little under 2 months and you all know at that point i was still "active" in the org.
we had a few issues with our bridal party - namely the groom - cuz according to them he wasnt a good example and not in good status because they hadn't seen him at the meetings or in service for like 2 months.

Hello LoriJis perhaps your husband is just upset at the way things have to be. Im sure he understands the situation, but maybe he is just having trouble accepting it. It can be very aggravating when you are dealing with people that make no sense, but have control of your loved ones. Therefore they have somewhat control of you for the rest of your life. Most families don't go thru this crap, and as I watch my new non JW friends get married I envy the joy and freedom they have with the event. You have your loved ones close to you when you get married. Whether they are perfect or not. Jesus loved everyone. The JW strict rules are designed to hurt people they are not controlling. And the best means of doing that is thru family love. If my family was not in that religion I would not give 2 shits. But they are. I kind of relate a little to your husband. I was not invited to my little brothers wedding about two years ago. I did not even find out about it till after the event. Now mind you I am very proud and sure about not being one of Jehovahs Witnesses anymore, and I knew the consiquences of my actions. It still hurt when I found out. Anger was definately one of my emotions. Anger from hurt. Hope this helps.

Did You Personally Know Any JWs That Were Sexually Molested By Other JWs?
by minimus ini knew of a handful (which is too many) that were molested by a jehovah's witness.
it was not typical in my experience.
what about you???.

Only heard one case. The mother of the molested child is no longer attending meetings. The molestor still attended till they died. No legal actions were taken. The elders decided the proof was not there, and the mother still believes that JW have the true religion ,and that the elders decisions should be respected. I couldn't accept that. Sad.
