i'm doing a blog post on dedication and baptism.

is there a comprehensive list of the books needed to study and the years in effect?

i was baptized in 1992 and i think one of the books were united in worship...(blue book).

@ColdSteel: The Truth book was first released in 1968 and revised 1981, replaced by the Live Forever book in 1982.

is there a comprehensive list of the books needed to study and the years in effect?

i was baptized in 1992 and i think one of the books were united in worship...(blue book).

In 1992 there was the Live Forever a.k.a. Paradise book (full title You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth), released 1982, revised 1989. It was used as the primary Bible study aid until 1995, when the Knowledge book (Knowledge That Leads to Everlasting Life) was released. The Knowledge book was eventually superseded by the current Bible Teach book (What Does the Bible Really Teach?), published in 2005 with two illustrations updated in the 2006 reprint.

After completing this first Bible study aid, the student (even if baptized by the time they finished this first book) would go on studying a second book. Indeed in the '80s and up to 2002 this was the United in Worship of the Only True God, released in 1983. This book was reedited with some significant changes and published as Worship the Only True God to be released at the 2002 district conventions. The current book on Christian conduct and principles regarding this is called "Keep Yourselves in God's Love", released in 2008.

Starting 1996-1997, some would start a Bible study using the What Does God Require of Us? brochure (this Require brochure was released in 1996) before heading to the first study aid. This role will be taken next year by the brochure released this year and titled Good News From God!

i have been trying to find a pdf copy as the paper copy goes for well over $100 on ebay and amazon.

Trinity Brochure

has anybody heard an official reason that the trinity brochure is deceased?.

the gb have been released basically new versions of old brochures with wild abandon, and yet the trinity brochure which has absolutely no equivalent is no longer in print.. why?.

we all know there were dodgy references/quotations therein, but you would think by now the gb would have put some effort into a viable replacement if it were posssible.. nobody seems to be making too much of this as far as i can see.. the trinity brochure was very naughty.

There is a footnote in a life story article published in a recent magazine regarding the Trinity brochure, and it clearly states that it is out of print.

Advance Health Care Directive dpa-E Us PDF?

a friend of mine, active jw, is about to go to the states and needs an english ahcd document.

can any of you provide me a scan of the latest revision of the us edition of it?

i found an australian version that pretty much resembles the current romanian revision used here (nov. 2004), but i'm not sure it's accurate according to us laws and/or the us version of the form.

Well, eventually I created an ad-hoc version based on the Australian one and a US one that was posted on JWN in 2003, to make sure all terms that are present in the Romanian version are also laid out. I put the PDF on Sendspace too, just in case.

Big Favor- I want to compile all the older WTLIB CDs

several have asked about wtlib cds and usually everyone wants the newest available, but i would like the older ones and try a compatibility mode suggested by a jw.net member within windows, to run them.

they have some books and brochures etc... on them that the newer ones don't.

i want them for referance as well as simply a collecting standpoint.

Prior to 2004, the Watchtower Library was released once every two years (1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003).

2012 District Convention Releases

I second wisdomfrombelow's point; the first conventions were scheduled for this last weekend (18-20) ... but so far no news on any sites. JWtalk.net are also planning a spoiler thread, but it hasn't been started yet.

i'm not religious but i am a theology student.. why does this cd instruct me to close my antivirus program before running the executable?.

innocent mistake?

i can't remember ever seeing this instruction on a legitimate executable, and i've been using computers for a long, long time..

The "Please disable antivirus software" message is part of the default template of the installer workflow built by Nullsoft Scriptable Install System (the free installer builder produced by the people who brought you Winamp, used by the Watchtower software engineers to build the setup kit for Watchtower Library).
