  I thought about this all day yesterday after reading about the “generation” change. I asked my self…Why? What are they trying to do? And my friend…I’m afraid that you might be right. Think about it, perhaps there is the possibility that the WT/GB is trying to strive on chaos. It could be an attempt to push the “conscious class” out and self-induce a drop in the R&F’s “theocratic activity”, then say that the “drop” provides further support that the “End is near”, because the bible predicted that “Jehovah’s judgment will start in His house”. That many JWs were not humble enough to follow the direction of the FDS, that they were “serving Jehovah” with the wrong motives…I can almost hear them saying “remember folks, Jesus said that the road to “everlasting life is narrow and not many will enter the Kingdom of God”, therefore, we should not be dishearten by the number of JW leaving God’s Organization, after all by their action they are showing that their hearts were not truly in the Truth... Jehovah wants quality not quantity”. They’ll nurture the WT’s loyalists that blindly continues supporting the GB, get a fresh set of New JWs and continue business as usual.

  These are just some of the things that’s making it clear that this is a deliberate attempt to drive out those who are using their brains:

  1) The constant call for submission and obedience to the GB.

  2) The increasing # of partakers

  3) The bold lies and misinformation in the publications, “Millions Now Living Might Never Die…” etc.

  4) Asking for contribution by charging Credit & Debit cards at the conventions.

  5) The April 2010 “generation” change without a decent or intellectually drafted explanation..

  This and much more. Oh well, they are just making things a lot easier for some.

  i'm still just trying to understand ..... what is the real essence of why the leaders at the very core of this religion do what they do?

  i assume they are all in the 144k, so i get that.

  but i mean ... that can't be the entire motivation for all this misery.

  at a recent circuit assembly a circuit overseer gave an awesome talk during the portion, 'giving attention to the needs of the circuit.

  and with such a high pricetag, please don't let it be empty.

  Wait a minute….doesn’t the WT/GB teaches that ONLY the anointed (aka 144K/FDS) are the “congregation”? What, the GB is not attending the meetings? Those ungrateful bastards… (saying it with sarcastic tone).

  uni is not all its cracked up to be me dears, sorry

  i've noticed on this forum the big regret of alot of people seems to be that they didn't go to collage or university.. speaking as someone whose done the whole shebang, i can tell you that while yes i learnt alot at collage, uni taught me very little at all.

  in fact anything i learnt i taught myself by spending hours apon hours in the uni libary, which i could have done by just getting a day pass.. my degree has not helped me in my career, i already knew how to do what i do before going to uni.

  i run my own business now but i am sure that if i ever went for an employee postion my years of experiance would count far more than the bit of paper i have proving i have a degree.. getting a degree is pretty much down to knowing how to work the academic system.

  I agree with changeling “education e xpands our horizons”. Some college professor are mere instructors, others are “real teachers, mentors, etc”. In part, one of the benefits of going to a university is that it teaches you to take responsibility for your own education. Its also about the experience, meeting different people with different points of view, again…it’s about expanding your horizons.

  A college degree in the right field could represent a ticket to a better paying job, it doesn’t guarantee a job or success, but it makes it a lot easier to find stability. For example, there are plenty of qualified people that are very smart and could be good teachers, but they won’t get a teaching job unless they have a degree in teaching.

  I think this is another topic that falls into the “it’s a matter of opinion” bin. My 2 centabos.

  I’m also new to the “posting in forums” thing. This is the first forum I joined and post.

  When replying, if I have nothing to say about a topic I don’t post. If I do have something to say, I check all the post so I don’t repeat what was already said. Sometimes I try to watch for grammar and spelling, sometimes I don’t have time for that. But I like to draft my reply on MS Word, edit, copy, paste, send…

  A lot of similarities, equally disturbing and sad. Particularly this quote, you can hear the same almost word by word from thousands of JWs …

  "Maybe to people outside it looks like a cult, maybe a little primitive," he says, but he believes it can be "a happy community" and a "very beautiful place". "But if you don't have the faith inside, it's like a jail."

  No wonder many are walking out of their churches and renouncing their religion.

  Remember When Jehovah's Witnesses Took Pride In Themselves?

  there was a time when a witness would proudly tell others that they were jehovah's witnesses.

  now, more jws skirt away from expressing what they are and who they represent.

  in the old days, you could comment at a meeting and express the research you did on a subject.

  This is a very interesting topic. Maybe the ‘new’ new ones will not be able to notice the difference. But I do remember when I got in, (in the 90’s) that the comments and some parts used to be better researched, more thoughtful and personals. I know that it sounds contradictory, but at least within the WT’s intellectual confinements, some where able to display pride and conviction in their conversations and comments. Now, that spirit is dwindling, the majority are in the meetings physically, but not mentally. Almost 95% of the comments are nothing but a mere parroting of what was written in the paragraph. As a matter of fact, when an insightful comment comes along, there is hardly a word of encouragement or acknowledgment.

  I’ve noticed how the young-ones, in order to cope with the door-to-door ministry pair up with buddies and avoid as much as possible getting assigned a house to knock at.

  Funny…..

  I watched the documentary “FOOD INC” the other day. While looking at it, for some reason…I couldn’t help but to find a lot of comparison (similarities) between the Food Industry and the Watchtower Corp. In essence, the “spiritual food” dispensed by the WT is highly processed, with not real nutritional value, appealing to the eyes but detrimental to your mental, emotional and intellectual health. Pack of empty spiritual calories, an apparent variety but in essence homogeneous. Only good to fill you up for a while; but lacking lasting satisfaction. In the highly streamlined food industry, a worker is of no value because it could easily be replaced, in the WT’s world, individual witnesses are of no value if they are not generating profit to the WT. McDonalds = KHs, Caned Goods = Watchtower Publications, Slaughterhouse = Convention (assembly) Halls, unscrupulous Cattle Raisers = Org. Man elders, Cos, etc…. Monsanto board of directors = Governing Body of JW.
