New here
by His Excellency infor the record, i am not a native english speaker, infact i recently just started studying english about 18months ago.
so apologies for any error you may encounter in the process of making sense of my logic.. i am from a small village in a destitute and war ravaged african country, 80 percent of people in my town live on less than 50cent in a day and myself included, no roads, no hospital, no public institution, no social welfare support, no national security institutiion, nothing, just tribal factions exchanging agricultural produce and i have always wondered why jehovah would have to put the preaching work ahead of a poverty eradication program at this desperate time of our existence.. .
it was an emotional adventure on finding answers to that question that led me here.

It would be a lovely letter
by Defianttruth inletter from the governing body.. .
dear brothers due to our failed attempts of interrupting scripture and completely false, multiple prophecies, we as the governing body are going to implement a few new changes to god's earthly organization.. .
we are not god's earthly organization.

Is it wrong to stay in?
by confusedteenager ini feel like, i don't believe in the majority of what the gb teaches, but all of my friends and family are invested in this organization and i feel it would be easier on me to just play the part and continue going through the motions then try to leave right now.
is this taking the coward way out?.
i just feel like i wouldn't have much to look forward if i stepped away..

One of the reasons I left after I graduated high school, was I knew that I couldnt take the subjection thing... The guys were so not what I wanted in a husband. I wanted a say in my own life.

A THANK YOU to the board
by Jerohobobonadad inhello again.. i just thought i'd say "thanks" to all of the contributors to this board (and other boards/ websites, but mostly to this board).. i only started looking on the internet for info on the wtbts about 2 months ago.
for years i had huge doubts about the org, but no facts to rationalise these doubts.
some individuals have obviously spent many hours going through the societies literature and researching the history of the org and made this research widely available on line.. i can only imagine what it must have been like 10 or 20 years ago if a "witness" had doubts - where would you go to find out the facts?

I am so greateful that answers are available all over the net and especially here at JWN. I left long before the internet but sometimes "worried".
Now, no worries!

Did You Give Much $$$ To The Kingdom Hall And/Or Watchtower Society?
by minimus ini typically gave $$$ to the local kh and seldom gave donations to the society.. i always am amazed how some church going people have very little materially, yet make sure the church and the pastors are well taken care of..

Maybe $20.00 total, left as soon as I graduated high school and that cash came out of my babysitting money. I am still a little tight with the budget.

Question about this site
by free2beme ini have come to this site for almost a decade.
even though i do not stop by much anymore, i wonder why it has not been upgraded or changed to a more modern format.
it seems like it has basically just been left to what it was upgraded to several years ago.

A lot of us are older too, we kind of match. I've gotten to like it... familiarity and all that.
