  a lot of people here have read and highly recommend ccmc by steven hassan and coc by ray franz, myself included.

  i don't know how i would have handled leaving the borg without that knowledge.. so thinking that got me to wondering, who here has not read them (or has read one but not the other), and how are you coping with exiting the borg?

  Read Crisis of Conscience and have In Search of Christian Freedom... am still reading it in spurts. Combatting Cult Mind Control is on my search list on ebay. I got the others from ebay for less than $10.00 each including shipping. Good stuff!

  i have been df-ed for almost 9 years.

  just out of curiosity, has anyone decided to find another religion or belief after being jw?

  i struggle with my feelings, my mom and brother, aunt, cousins are all jw.

  Annie I found "Crisis Of Conscience" on ebay...It took a week or two but it finally came up. I got it for less than $15 including shipping. If I hadn't sent it to my sister I would send it on to you. Ebay takes a little while but everything comes up sooner or later.

  When the "society" pays for the entire hospital bill for any of their dupes who decline a blood transfusion, so that those alternate options (which can be very expensive), then there might be a reason to let them retain the tax exempt status.

  towards the end of my untheocratic worship i would make sure no one was looking and i would x out peoples names on the school schedule writing canceled or i would draw arrows from one persons talk to anothers as if they had switched talks because of going out of town or something..

  if you just want the juicy details where i leave, i'll make disclaimer where it begins, if you just want to know what happened with the elders and organization after i realized it wasn't true, i'll mark that seperately.

  we didn't do jack shit in service, or in the congregation.

  maybe this was how jehovah came about?
