rome (ap) pope francis' point man on clerical sex abuse said monday the failure of the catholic church to punish bishops who covered up for pedophiles had seriously harmed its credibility and that it must now lead the way by "humbly making the commitment to accountability, transparency and zero tolerance.

"cardinal sean o'malley, archbishop of boston, said canon lawyers and theologians were reviewing proposals to present to the pope on holding bishops and religious superiors accountable.

the proposals were developed by francis' commission of experts, which o'malley chairs and includes two survivors of abuse.. ....

I am Catholic and have said more than once, it wouldn't bother me in the least if all religions were taxed, Perhaps some reduction for valid charity that the government doesn't have to perform.

i thought i'd write a poem, like,to prove how doomed i am.i do not see the world like you.oh poo, that's me kerbammed.they say that god is gonna wipe usfrom the face of earth.they say we're damned and off to hell.if we treat this with mirth.what was the point of making thisentire universeif all god does is wipe us outa moment after birth?us humans are as mad as hell,we're bonkers through and through.and now a bible's in our hands,uh oh, please look out you.it's unexploded, not gone off yetit's ticking just for us.we'll bring it round now to your placeand really make a fuss.if you ignore our knock at doorand do not let us in.we'll have to quote this book at you'coz you've committed sin.it says so in this book here, look.that prove's the end's begun.from chapter one to final page.oh what a lot of fun.if you don't get down on your knees and worship god with mei'll get upset and write a blog so everyone can see.and then, i'll say, on blog todaythat you're extremely doomed.we're going down the pan you know.a pan with lots of rooms.we really don't need other mento tell how bad we are.

if we don't put the brakes on thiswe all know what must follow.consuming everything in sightand munching through the earth.will kill all life here anywayon this place of our birth.so why would god then intervene and kill us in despairwhen we can do it anyway?no help is needed there.that's not what this is all about.god only means the best.do unto others, etcetra,then god can do the rest.he don't want you to be a slavejust upright noble man.he isn't out to dominate.that isn't in the plan.so what he's done is give you lifehere in this pile of pooso you can see here for yourselfthe best that you could do.and here we see what happens whenwe go and fekk it up.we drink the juices of our filthand that's a bitter cup.so cry and moan and say no godhow dare he treat us thus?to go and let our children dieand hide away from us.but is there here, on earth, a bookthat does explain it all?that tells us how we could behaveand how to have a ball.if god is just then future times will have to recompensewith all the tears wiped from our eyes.it's what makes loving sense.if god is love then from abovesomething will soon be sentto end this mess and repossessthe planet from us men.then raise us up, just recreatethe dna that's man.so up we pop and on we walkto learn what can be done.when man in harmony with allthat's just and strong and wisecan walk forever, head held high,with god clear in his eyes.god says he will reveal himselfso there can be no doubt.it simply hasn't happened yetare we allowed to shout?we're hanging on by skin of teethin all this misery.but i'm impatient, hurry pleaseoh god, i want to see.if i am doomed for writing thisif these words drag me downthen god is not the god of loveand i am not his man.. .

Decided to sign up...

so i decided to sign up after many years of lurking.

started researching after finding out about ray franz, which inevitably brought me to this site.. i'm still well and truly inn, but don't want to give any information out, i'm sure you guys know the reasons.. since "jay double you .

org" came online, there has been a definite sense of hysteria with everyone who is "inn", and i get a feeling it's going to get a whole lot crazier as the years press on.. one point i would like to raise is that i feel, without a doubt, that 2034 is going to be the new finish line.

When 2034 comes and goes someone will dig up the forecast by Isaac Newton which states 2060 is the earliest that Armageddon could come and all will get their numerology panties in a twist yet again. The race will begin for another 100 years of JW tweaks and wishful thinking.

Is Watchtower's position on smoking consistent with its position on masturbation?

watchtower considers masturbation to be a form of uncleanness but not a disfellowshipping offence because the bible says nothing about masturbation.

a jw who masturbates is likely to face no more than losing privileges in the congregation.. like masturbation, smoking is considered by jws to be a form of uncleannes and like masturbation, the bible says nothing about it.

but a jw who smokes faces disfellowshipping.. yes, smoking is known to be deleterious to a person's health whereas the jury is still out on the adverse health effects of masturbation.

Going out with a bang

after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.

it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.

i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.

Site issues: Jan 02 Update (Sign In)

i've deployed a fix for people affected by sign-in issues caused by having multiple accounts associated with the same email address.

here's how to activate the fix:.

you must attempt to sign in using the email address associated with your account (not a username) and must have access to that mailbox.. if there are multiple accounts associated with the email address then you will be shown a warning message with the option to have an email sent to repair your account.. the email will contain a link to a page showing all the accounts associated with the same email address and allow you to select the one you want to be active (it will disassociate all the other accounts from the email address).. once you have completed the process then you should be able to sign in as normal.

New layout feels very chaotic

i don't really know how to describe the feeling but i'll give examples, but the new layout to me makes it feel tiring being on for too long.

1. there is the top menu, then a big add between that and the next part, a big ad between the bottom and where you reply, then on the right column you either have 2 ads on top or some type of summary, then ad, then either related posts or other areas.

there are no borders, the adds have the same color and text type but larger font, and it all seems chaotically merged into one thing where you need to constantly sort out what you are viewing.

While I am loving a lot of the new features, I also miss the threads, when I click on a particular forum from home page, the mix of old and new is nice and exasperating at the same time. So finding an old thread is available from search but if I know how long ago it was I could just jump back a few pages of threads and be pretty sure to find it quickly.

I have found interesting old threads but it is a crap-shoot.
