How credible are NWT's critiques?: Allin and John 8:58. (2)
by Wonderment inhow credible are nwt's critiques?
: allin and john 8:58.a few weeks ago we had a discussion surrounding john 8.58. the posters in this forum offered various views in regards to jesus' divine role in scripture.
occasionally, some scholars publish articles where they voice their opinion against the nwt theological renderings.

Wonderment, lots of information here, and I am sad to say I only read part of it . A semi-brief note of its conclusions (like the part where you underlined) and a link would be more to my liking. I know a lot of people wont click on a link but can come up with a google search with the same information. -

Time Machine
by HB incaveat 1: those who believe jesus is truly the son of god may wish to avoid this post.
although my thoughts are only proposed for mild amusement and interest and in no way intended to offend, for some, the concept behind the idea may be an affront to preciously held beliefs.
if that’s likely to be the case, kindly just don’t read.

A nice vacation in another area may help with a move... you scope out a place and check out the child/teen friendly places. If the kiddos are interested in something not quite forbidden, encourage them. Budding artist or skateboarder? Speak with a school teacher or counselor too..
Moving to an area with good schools is so important. Put the kibosh on vacation pioneering. If the kids have a school assignment help them at the library. Skills on the computer will help them.
Pay attention to your children; they will show you what their interests are.

Reflections
by Frenchy inim starting a new thread because its time i left the bergman discussion.
i would like to address some comments made by ahhah, however, comments which have given me reason to look deep into myself.. even then, i wonder how objective a person could ever be after having had part of their life taken from them by a cult association.
on the other hand, who else (other than an ex-jw) would ever care enough to work as tirelessly as he seems to have in attempting to document the potential harm of this religion (biased as it may be).

JWs have more good points than bad
by lsw1961 in1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).
2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.
this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

It is interesting that you think something at odds with JW teaches and keep quiet about it there are no repercussion. Eventually this will become an issue with them. You will send your child to college, have that blood transfusion or they interfere with your family life.
We all have family or friends in the delusion, and would love to be able to talk with them freely about anything. It can't happen.
There are several similar religions ( Amish, Islam; and Scientology; their teachings are so different but just as damaging to the membership.) Islam will "take care" of the dissenter personally. JWs will just treat you as if you are dead,
