trueblue! They call that a redneck mocha? I had no idea it had a name! I started making my coffee that way when I was a teenager. No one taught me how to do it, I just decided one morning to try it and have been making my coffee that way ever since. I've added some stuff to it since then as well. I buy the caramel topping for ice cream and throw that into it, with some vanilla extract and some cream or milk...tastes as good as the stuff you can get at starbucks and is a lot cheaper.

Do some google searches for birthday party games. There are a ton out there and you can get some great ideas. I love throwing birthday parties for my girls now that I am out of the cult! They are so much fun to live through vicariously! Pinatas are always a fun activity for any age. At that age I wouldn't blindfold them. Just let them try and bust it open and enjoy the candy. Lots of balloons and streamers are always fun for decoration. And the kids enjoy popping the balloons as the party winds down. Yes the gifts get opened during the party, so the guests can see your child enjoying what they brought for them. And cake and ice cream are the usual foods served. They say for the number of guests...go by the age of your child..so if your daughter is turning five then let her invite five friends. I think that is a good rule to go by. Hope you have fun and happy birthday to your little one!

The ONE 'sin' I NEVER heard of in all my time as a JW . . . . .
by nicolaou ini never heard of any sister having an abortion - doesn't mean it didn't happen, just that i never heard of one.. i've personally known child abusers, closet gays, drunks and thieves all within my time at just 2 congregations.
i know one brother who hid the fact he had blood transfusions at a critical time.
now i'm certainly not lumping in an abortion with acts of abuse or dishonesty, and for the record i don't consider it a 'sin' (whatever that is).

Trust me if you ever saw these men eat...they ate entirely too much. They would clean out the local pizza parlour's buffet. There are two elders in particular I am talking about. They would order two of the McD's large breakfast meals for breakfast before field service. And eat those entirely with a few added side items. It was rather disgusting to watch

I always wondered about the gluttony issue as well. Especially considering most of the elders in our congregation were what you would consider to be on the 'hefty' side, and were well known to frequent the local McD's before field service and order large meals. Or to be seen at the local pizza parlour on Sundays after meetings pigging out. And yet they had no problems counceling others on their transgressions. I asked my elder father about this once. Apparently there are different levels of sins. *laughs*

Never. Nuh uh. No way. Well....only if my children were to ask me to take them. I told them I would take them to church if they got curious. And then it would be to many different churches so they could see how they differ. Otherwise...I'll pass.

They call themselves the Pastafarians.
It is actually quite an interesting path. My daughters actually claim it as their religion if they are asked what church they attend in school.
