I am just agreeing with some of you ex-JWs against the WT (re: time card vs character). As well, there are some of you here who still don't understand grace vs works.

God is more interested in our hearts and character than our time card. It is pathetic that many Christians are not active in sharing their faith, discipling others, etc. This highlights the power of grace vs works. All the works in the world will not get us closer to His standard of perfection (hence the need for the cross).

I have not counted. It depends on the context. He is the monogenes huious or theos from eternity. He was only resurrected from the dead once. Both are 'begotten' words, but different contexts/uses. There may be other uses such as his birth in Bethlehem. It is a moot point to me compared to understanding the semantic range of meaning of the English word (yet different Gk. words) and the various contexts.
I will stick to 3.1416 because I like pie.

human spirituality is a chosen way of life.
God's words, not mine (re: fool). He also laughs and scoffs at the mockers in derision (Ps. 2). You don't know who you are messing with. I see things differently that the majority of fellow believers. I do not consider those who embrace other religions or even atheism to necessarily be morons, but when they make stupid arguments or reject sound ones, then the shoe fits. As I said, the Hebrew word for fool here has more to do with moral than mental issues. There are smart atheists and stupid Christians. There are functional atheists living as though God does not exist while professing faith in God.
This site can provide healing and help/information. The fastest way to be healed is to meet the Healer, God Himself. Some ex-JWs still have some doctrinal interest. It is wrong to assume I am just here to troll for damaged souls, whatever that means. I am not an idiot and am actually informed about some things, especially my corner of the world that may be of interest to students of religion (this includes some atheists).
If I think a person does not merit the time of day, I skip their posts. Feel free to do the same with mine. I am a glutton for punishment and no truth does not run from error, so I try to give a fair hearing to everyone and way their words for merit or censure.
Jn. 6 is a metaphor, not a wooden literalism. Salvation is based on faith in the person and work of Christ, not external rituals. It is one thing to quote a verse, but another to interpret it in context and in light of other verses.
So, if I am a separated brethren without sacramental grace (grace comes from a relationship with Christ through the power of the Spirit, not through ritual or external symbols....many Catholics practice ritual, but remain unregenerate and without relationship with Christ), do I go to heaven, hell, or purgatory?
i was recently born again and thus am anointed because of this i have come to realize that though there are sincere people who are jw, some teachings are fine but the wt organization is a fraud.
here is my story sorry if it's a bit long but i need to tell it.. 16 years ago today i was baptized as one of jw's.

Salvation is based on receiving or rejecting Christ, not being on a religious treadmill for a human organization.
The proof texts for infant baptism have nothing to do with that. Far more explicit texts support believer's baptism by immersion for disciples. Unique RC doctrine relies on tradition/later papal decree and a few prooftexts out of context if lucky. We agree to disagree, but I appreciate your thoughtful answers.
So, can I go to heaven and be right with God despite rejecting Catholic Church/distinctives? I believe you can despite the errors of Catholicism (individual issue vs automatic).
dgp: Ehrman is an agnostic/atheist, not a Christian scholar. He writes well, but is wrong in his liberal views. WT certainly has no evidence that YHWH was removed from the NT. They complain about KJV adding I Jn. 5:7 (I agree with WT), yet think nothing of adding Jehovah over and over despite no MSS evidence. They also change words or add words in NWT that have no support (Jn. 1:1 a god; Col. 1 other 6x, Jn. 8:58 I have been, etc.).
