Incipient Gnosticism was dealt with by John and Paul in Scripture. It is a heresy and this guy probably has little good to say in line with truth. He is not a big player. In light of a wealth of credible, conservative, godly scholarship, why do you guys gravitate to fringe authors like WT does to try to find support for their indefensible theories? It would be good to read it, but critically. Too many want spirituality without a holy God. Spirituality will still send one to hell since it is of the devil when it is contradictory to biblical truth (or just the musings of men trying to sell books, but used to keep or lead people away from Christ). Discernment is sorely lacking in this experiential generation.

Since field service is part of the warp and woof of being a JW, I could see how that might be implied, but perhaps they would say Jehovah would not reward you for lack of service, but you would still get into paradise by the skin of your teeth? Regardless, cults scream works religion and know little about the power of God's grace in Christ (we cannot add to His shed blood).

Newchapter. I have not sat through much of conventions, but your comments were exactly what I heard and observed/overheard after by a few. I did notice many yawns during Losch (GB)'s dead lecture. Is this the best they got?
As much as I am against WT, I commend people of faith who sincerely want to please God (vs atheists who mock Him). This is why I am zealous to see these precious people not waste their lives on a false god/false religion/cult. They deserve better (and Jesus is the best). My heart cries out for your former people to God. Rescue the perishing (says the old Christian hymn), care for the dying, snatch them in pity from sin and the grave, weep o'er the erring one, lift up the fallen, tell them of Jesus the mighty to save, etc.

Who says these kids were coerced? JWs are robots/slaves for a dead organization. Acts promises that even children will be full of the Spirit. Why can't kids be an army of passion and compassion crying out to God for the lost and sharing the gospel, including praying for the sick and seeing them healed? The adults are too rational and disobedient, so God has the rocks and kids cry out to show that the power is Him, not us. I am not condoning some problems/issues is this video, but am also not assuming that the Spirit vs Satan is not involved. The Pharisees also thought Jesus had a demon when He had the Holy Spirit (blasphemy of the Spirit, attributing works of Jesus to Satan). I remember years ago as the Holy Spirit came on me as I was sharing the truth of who Jesus is from the Bible with a JW. He sensed the presence, but thought it was a demon. I know demonic oppression from going to Kingdom Hall. I know the peace and power and presence of the Spirit from going to churches that exalt Christ as the Bible does. JWs are so rationalistic and fearful of everything that they cannot discern divine from demonic. Those who have left WT and have not found God are not in the position to be spiritually discerning. One needs the Holy Spirit/Word for that and one does not have Him apart from calling on Jesus as YHWH.
This video is not brainwashing. Show us a boring KH meeting with kids and that will be exhibit A of mind-control, indoctrination, brainwashing. Sheesh, some people's kids.

Mockers deserve justice; hurt ex-JWs who are soft deserve mercy. The fact you are not hit by lightning is evidence of His love, mercy, patience, but you will not escape justice if you don't repent. God is not in the dock, you are. His character is above impugning. You are just ignorant of the issues. Satan comes to kill, destroy, lie, steal. Jesus/God comes to give life abundant and eternal. He will also bring justice to Casey Anthony and O.J. Simpson if they are guilty, so the smile/smirk is premature. I am thankful that justice will happen for Hitler vs Jews or Satan vs humanity. You are evil if you think this is not important.

I retracted my fat slob label and admitted I am overweight, but not morbidly obese. My mother was also significantly overweight until she shrank from cancer. Why don't you quote my correction where I apologized and emphasized the heart issues, not externals? Gluttony is a sin, but so is gossip. Don't confuse my observation (which does not have to be pejorative, just fact) with what Jesus does or does not do.

JWs and Mormons are the largest pseudo-Christian cults founded by mere mortals, Russell and Smith. They are generally fine people and less argumentative than JWs. They also don't have as much of an us vs them mentality and can befriended, unlike Pharisaical JWs. Their faith is more science fiction than JWs. Since they believe Jesus is Jehovah (but not the biblical concept), it may be easier to reach them if the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith as Prophet can be undermined. JWs are to be commended for just having the Bible (and WT literature, drat), unlike the Scriptures of Mormonism and modern prophet revelation. Pros and cons....
I am excited people are finding freedom from these groups, but if it leads to a rejection of Bible, God, Christ, they are not further ahead from an eternal perspective. Thankfully, many do become biblical Christians who leave JW and Mormonism. This is the desire of concerned Christians in counter-cult ministry, whether they were once personally involved or not.
Pray, pray, pray; plead, plead, preach.

God gave centuries for evil people to repent. He gave warnings, showed restraint, yet society got to the point of being a threat on His people, a cancer that would kill them and others. Finally, His wrath happens, like pain to get your hand off a burner. If He did nothing, people would complain (do you also defend Hitler and His slaughter or would it be just to have him dealt with?!). You do not know the holiness and patience of God nor the extreme evil in some of the OT cultures. He also dealt with Israel when they went after false idols lest they eternally perish (act of mercy to judge). He died on the cross so we can avoid deserved justice and experience mercy (issues were governmental, not personal; God is predisposed to forgive, but He is a Moral Governor who must uphold the Law).
God is wise, loving, holy, ultimate sanity. You are the insane one for being a godplayer and taking a foolish chance with no good outcome for you. He puts up road blocks, especially the cross, yet you mock Him. He has me sharing the Christ, and you mock me. Honestly, don't complain to God if you perish (I pray you come to your senses before death or His coming). He will remind you of the person and work of Christ and you mouth will be shut. You will see His blazing love and holiness and your own sinfulness (which you seem blind to), and your mouth will be shut.
I will defend the glory of God over the evil of men any day, but you seem to think vice versa.

Justice delayed is NOT justice denied. This is the Church Age of Grace, not OT theocracy for Israel. There are 1000s of years of mercy/grace and a future 3 1/2 year period of wrath before the Prince of Peace returns....and you guys still complain and impugn His character. I wish Hitler and Satan would have been snuffed, but issues of free will, etc. kept them going. God will triumph over evil and you and I will give account for every thought and word and action. The difference will be that my sins are covered by His blood (all the works in the world cannot add to this, JWs), whereas those who reject His free gift will 'pay' for their own sins. Why choose justice when mercy is being offered on the basis of His great price, the precious blood of Christ, the God-Man. It was not a flunky angel who came and died. It was Yahweh Himself. Anyone who spits in His face in light of this love and holiness is an idiot.
