There is evidence that at least one or a few feel the whole thing needs to be blown up and they really don't believe all the stuff they expect everyone else to. God does not run a worldwide project with a few fallible men who flip flop, vote, etc., especially ones that have core biblical truth so wrong. They are no better than the Mormon organization and its false prophets. Catholics have some parallels, but at least they have a more biblical doctrine of God/Christology (but too many extra/contrabiblical traditions). There is probably more division and corruption than most will ever know at Bethel. The good news is that all who follow Jesus as YHWH will see and rule with Christ in a glorified body. There will be billions in heaven, not just 144 K (counting miscarriages, abortions, child deaths, believers through the ages; the only ones on earth will be those who survive Armageddon in physical bodies).

Unrest in the Governing Body
by JWFreak inone of the many questions that i am asked is what are the current gb members like, who are the hardliners and who are more moderate.. because of my previous job, at a european bethel, i had dealings with most of them with the exception of sam herd.. these are my observations of my conversations with them and how others who had dealings with them.. other ex bethelites may have contrary views to mine, but i would be surprised.. i had spent a lot of time with splane, lett and morris.
hardliners.
david splane, without doubt the one who commands the most respect and attention.

I would never trust my destiny to these cats. Read the Bible without the WT glasses as God intended. The Holy Spirit is able to lead into truth (don't forget to jettison the sectarian NWT for a credible version).

It is good to see someone who was burned by a cult is still open to the Bible and finding a true relationship with the real Jesus. This is the best course of action, but does take time for some people. What are some of your new views or are they still WT ones, just separated from submitting to an organization? Which version do you use (I would encourage you to abandon the sectarian NWT).

Q for all Christians (not just JW) about the ransom.
by Anony Mous inso this is the basic logical flaw in christianity i believe.
a brother identified it from the stage for me in a talk.
we all agree (as christians and jw's) that the ransom was necessary because adam lost his perfection and everlasting life.. this is a paraphrase from the talk:.

Actually, the WT concept of ransom is NOT Christianity's biblical concept at all. 'Christendom' does not teach the same view as the WT. The 'atonement' is not a literal payment. Ransom is a metaphor conveying spiritual truth, not a wooden literalism. The death of Christ on the cross (not stake) is a substitute for the penalty of sin. Some Christians do believe in Anselmian literal payment or commercial transaction theory, but this would logically lead to universalism. There are a variety of Christian views (we have unity, not uniformity; all Christians do not share the same theoretical understanding, but we all affirm the need to trust Christ and His sacrifice). I am in a minority in my circles and some consider my view promoted by revivalist/lawyer Charles G. Finney and others to be heretical. I believe it is closer to the truth (with Christus Victor model having some merit also). It deals with public vs retributive justice and God as responsible Moral Governor of the universe. Albert Barnes (wrote commentaries, etc.) writes about it in 'The Atonement'. JWs have simplistic answers, but fail to appreciate the depth of scholarship and issues surrounding many doctrinal views. WT appeals to uneducated people or those who do not know the Bible and does thinking for people. They fail to realize how shallow and problematic their views are.

Let me know when you are ready to move on from arrogant ignorance. Have you even researched the evidence for the resurrection of Christ?

Is it "volunteering" or is it "slavery" or something else?
by Scully inthe wts depends almost exclusively on a volunteer labor force.
its members volunteer their time, goods and services for the benefit and financial gain of the wts.
the "carrot" that drives this volunteerism is god's favour, and ostensibly the further recruitment of new volunteers who will also use their time, goods and services for the benefit and financial gain of the wts.. however, when the "carrot" turns out to be part of a con, and turns out to be completely false (as it often does in areas where human traffickers use the promise of "a better life" or "a better future" to recruit people) it is referred to as slavery.. people willingly sign up for what turns out to be slave labour, and often sign their children up for what turns out to be slave labour, on the false promise of bettering themselves.. now i know that bethelitestm, missionariestm and special pioneerstm receive a very modest monthly stipend that doesn't even cover personal care supplies, much less provide for clothing, transportation, etc., and that these folks rely heavily on the generosity of brotherstm and sisterstm.

WTwizard: The reality is that everyone lives forever. There is also a promise for eternal life to those who believe, but everlasting punishment to those who don't (I Jn. 5:11-13; Jn. 3:16 vs Jn. 3:36). Salvation is based on grace through faith apart from works (Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:5). Faith vs unbelief determines destiny. The WT is classic cult in its works-based religion (carrot/donkey). All the works in the world will not get one closer to eternal life. The finished work of Christ and receiving vs rejecting it is the basis.
Works fit in with degree of reward (just as nature and quantity of sin affects degrees of punishment). Works are the fruit of faith and will be rewarded. Faith is the root of salvation. WT works are a waste of time and life since it is not service to God, but to a cruel organization of fallible men. Being a JW or ex-JW is a terrible thing. This is what motivates me in love to proclaim the risen Christ, the one who alone gives abundant and eternal life and is able to restore the years that the locusts ate. God loves you and wants the best for you, but we must come on His terms and recognize His rightful rulership over our lives (which is not mediated by Vatican nor Brooklyn).
Slave of WT/Satan (taskmasters) or love slave of Jesus or godplayer in kingdom of Self? There is only one sane option.

Jeff, don't be a dope. I realize subjective experience is not definitive. People who trust God have radically transformed lives. A few crazies think putting a fried egg on their head gives eternal life, love, joy, peace. It does not work for normal people though (not reproducible). Christianity is rooted in space-time history, not in the head of crazies. Jesus existed, claimed to be God, proved it by His resurrection. The Bible is historical narrative, not myth. There is no evidence that FSM exists or is God. There is evidence for YHWH, but you are deaf, dumb, blind. See the link for some basic thoughts to refute your idiotic arguments.

When I was in sales, we did not have this kind of reporting and accountability. The WT is a sales organization in its canned presentations. Christians freely share their time and faith without giving account to men, just to God. What a controlling cult?!
