no where does the bible support the view that blood transfussion acceptance should result in disfellowshipping: what if a jew ate blood?.
what did happen if a jew, under the law of moses, broke the law by eating blood, i.e., an unbled animal?
leviticus 17:15 clearly states the penalty:.

the society claims that certain components of blood will not violate conscience because they already pass naturally between mother and fetus.
(funny how they tell me what violates my conscience, but that is another story) anyways, here is their reasoning:.
watchtower of june 1, 1990, pages 30 & 31 .
why would it not feasible for the mother to donate blood to save her offsprings life.?
It would be very feasible, if they are of compatible blood type.

ABO blood type incompatibilities between the mother and unborn baby do not cause incompatibility problems in the uterus because antibodies (made in the blood of the mother ) to the ABO blood groups (of the baby) are of the IgM type, which do not cross the placenta. The only problems with blood incompatibility occur when a Rh negative mother has given birth to a Rh positive baby and subsequently becomes pregnant with another Rh positive child.
Here is a helpful article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rh_disease
After the baby is born, any blood it receives (even from the mother) needs to be be determined as compatible since the placenta isn't there to provide the protection against incompatibility.

didn't know where to put this so i figured here was as good as anywhere.
if you don't like this location, go ahead and move it.. i was raised as a jw.

i've been reading this forum for a while and i felt it was time to post my experience.
i am very comforted when i read others experiences and how similar they are to mine, i don't feel alone.. anyway, i learned the truth in 97, got baptized in 98. all of sudden i was getting prvileges, parts on the ca and dc and had friends that seemed to care about me and i cared for them.
eventually the love started to cool off, the meetings felt like watching reruns of a bland tv show.
Hi, I like your name and avatar.
Isn't great to know that your parents welcomed you right back?
There's more love shown by the Non-JW relatives than the JW's (their's is conditional on a lot of things) at least that has been my experience.
Welcome to the forum!

fds union of bethel workers go on strike.
They would never do that---they have challenging and meaningful work (how to arrange those watchtowers into neat stacks), high morale, nobody is constantly telling them what to do, and a comprehensive retirement plan--Oh they don't really need that after all the end is just around the corner you know....

From: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/7831/blood.htmlWHAT IF A JEW ATE BLOOD?
What did happen if a Jew, under the Law of Moses, broke the Law by eating blood, i.e., an unbled animal? Leviticus 17:15 clearly states the penalty:
"And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean."
Eating "flesh with its blood" brought about only the mildest of reprimands under the Law! How different from the harsh stand of Jehovah's Witnesses, who would sentence their members to eternal death for the same offense!
But what happened if a Jew was caught picking up sticks on the Sabbath? The answer is at Numbers 15:35:
"And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp."
Which sin was more serious: breaking the Sabbath - or eating blood?

the christian congregation of jw sent a letter to all congregations regarding hospital liaison committees.
this letter will be read the week of january 30, 2006. i can email a pdf of the letter to someone willing to post it here.
Does Blondie or Elsewhere.... anybody have the exact wording of the new blood card?
I want to find out if it specifically states that a patient cannot store his blood prior to a medical operation?
If it doesn't say that, then would that mean that now storing one's own blood with the intention of infusion back into the body after the operation is no longer viewed as objectionable by the WTS?

Of course the "Unfaithful and Indiscreet Slave" wants people to think they know more about the sanctity of blood than GOD.
By His own design, God made the passing of mother's blood to unborn baby part of the way humans grow in the uterus.
By His own design, mother's milk is rich with vital human blood components which serve as a natural way to preserve the life and health of the baby.
doesn't need to be poured into the ground. And the statement in Acts to "..keep abstaining from things strangled and from blood.." was addressed to Gentiles who would associate with Jews as new converts and clearly was a reference to not eating animals which died and had not been bled properly before being consumed.

i believe that a number of witnesses are leadind double lives.
they go to meetings.
they might even be elders and ministerial servants.
Excellent question.
There were so many people leading a double life--mostly teens--that it became obvious to me the Kingdum Hall was only a "social club." The parents were in the religion and so the meetings were just another way to stay in touch. Parties were always a big deal especially after the meetings. One particular teen I know used to bribe her elder dad and then brag about it. She exchanged a summer worth of auxiliary pioneering for the promise of a car when she turned 16.
She got her car, Daddy got to look good in the eyes of his fellow elders.
