  Going to meeting tonight.

  going to my first meeting in i think about 6 months or so.

  i'm going because my son has a talk the bible reading.

  anyway how weird to go to a place where everything is so foreign now.

  Your son doesn't really have at talk. A couple years ago the society decided to have it at strictly reading from the bible and not saying a single word, introduction or conclusion about the scriptures. The faithful and discreet slave (matt 25) realized that reading about 20 scriptures together in context to the congregation and allowing the speaker to give an introduction and conclusion might allow them to bring out what those scriptures are really talking about vs what the GB wants people to think.

  So now they just read the scripture, then they are graded on their reading ability like an 8 year old in school reading a page infront of the class. Sometimes they are fortunate to get a reading like Number 1:5-15, and must read it with much excitement and emphasis.

  I have been there before, to that very city. It's only like 5% excavated, and it can take a good part of a whole day to see it!

  I remember finding this building or wall that had just one stone/rock open. There was a sign that said Ploutonion.

  I peaked inside and heard sort of a bubbling noise and a strange smell coming out, sort of like the smell a car makes if it overheats, the radiator fluid.

  It's funny because there was no sign warning of breathing that in or anything and I recalled thinking if it was poisonus gas. Glad I didn't die lol.

  this is not the first time it has happened but it really took off this morning.. one sister says, "i was watching family guy with kids and the dog took home a human to have sex with.

  Why has nobody started a petition or writing letters to congress, etc?

  i can't be in the spotlight as starting this because of a family member.

  but i wonder why there is no big change.org type petition going on with hundreds of thousands of signatures, etc.

  or putting together a nice letter about how jw's religion breaks up families, claims to want religious freedom but those of us born in, or just in, are forced to accept their lies and anything they say or get shunned, and the devastating emotional, etc, effects on people.

  chaserious = Okay, you hit upon something that could work then. You said what I mentioned was ILLEGAL no matter if religion or not. Well isn't defamation and slanderi illegal as well?

  So since the WT has published that those who leave are MENTALLY DISEASED, then when they announce whoever is no longer as JW, they are saying that they are MENTALLY DISEASED, which is slander/defamation, which is illegal.

  Anybody have a rebuttal on that or is that a valid attack that the government could take action on?

  DS211 - nice catch on that scripture, I noticed that awhile back myself as well. The bible makes it plainly clear that when the annointed are resurrected, any who are yet alive will at the same time be transformed into spirit creatures and go up as well.

  Lostgeneration - Are human sacrifices, child sex, etc allowed if it's part of ones religion? I am advocating that the government review if humans right abuses are permitted in the name of religion. Brainwashing, forcing members to remain on fear of telling their familes and relatives to shun them if they leave, etc. The WT publishes articles about the amish how it's inhumane for them to shun their familes who want to learn 'the truth', etc, yet goes around and tells it's own members to shun those who leave.
