  2014 DC: Fewer, but larger venues in the U.S.

  in the u.s. there are fewer venues this year, but they will be held in larger facilities.

  as long as i can remember my family travelled no more than 2 hours to attend and in the last few years the dc was local (within a few minutes travel).

  this year my family is driving 6 hours to a major u.s. city.

  The GB has found that generally it's members can only take up to 1 week vacation per year. If they take that vacation, they might have fun and want to have more vacations, meaning getting a better education.

  They thought the solution was to make the district conventions a much longer drive in boring cities so that it's members will forget having time/money for a vacation and make the DC their vacation. This way instead of an annual vacation they can attend the district convention. Instead of weekend recreation, they can go out in field service. Instead of relaxation in the evenings after work, they can study and prepare for meetings.

  the only one to be resurrected as a spirit that is documented in the bible is jesus.

  when jesus was resurrected, did he appear to his disciples yet his body was still buried?

  When Jesus was resurrected, did he appear to his disciples yet his body was still buried?

  If the resurrection will follow in the same pattern as Jesus, then doesn't it make sense that if the anointed or any who die have been resurrected yet, their body would have vanished?

  In the 90's, atleast in my area there was a brief revival of large groups going to public places. A sunday skating rink, where 200+ showed up in the winter. In the summer was a large volleyball game.

  The GB are idiots, they want no jw's to associate with non jw's, then at the same time they don't want JW's to associate with eachother either, unless it's just field service. Other christian denominations have large parties, gatherings, events, etc, and nobody supervising. The GB act like anytime a group of JW's get together, unless there is an army of supervising elders, it will turn into an orgy.

  This one brother rented out an entire waterpark, and I think over 500 showed up. Everyone had a great time, and I think he got dfed or in major trouble for that.

  The GB should encourage and try to make staying in their cult so fun nobody would want to leave. Instead of articles about no more gatherings, no more anything, the large gatherings should have been examples of things to do so nobody is 'tempted' to have worldly association, etc.

  Since as you can see from the above statement, Rutherford felt anything from demons was only education and to know about Satan and HIS ORGANIZATION better, "It helps one to a better understanding of THE DEVIL's ORGANIZATION.", that may validate or make sense of why it's rumored the society had magic and witchcraft books.

  In the 12/3/1924 Golden Age page 150 you'll find this quote, "Angels and Woman - We present some letters regarding this book (a review of which recently appeared in our columns) which we feel sure will be of interest to many of our readers:

  To the Golden Age:

  Pardon me for taking this much of your time on what may be so simple a matter; but I was approached about going into a club to get a certain book called, "Angels and Women". I made some inquires, and was told that it was a book that a fallen angel dictated to a woman, showing a desire to come back into harmony with God; and that Pastor Russell approved of the book. I had never heard of the book before; and as we are to shun anything akin to spiritism I should like to know positively whether the book has your approval before buying one; so if it is not asking too much would like a reply. (Mrs.) W.S. Davis, Los Angeles, Cal.

  When Pastor Russell was here, he read a book dealing with conditions that obtained prior to the flood. he requested some other bretherren to read it. It was so much in harmony with the Bible account of the fallen angels that he regarded the book as remarkable. Under his supervision it was revised, and later published by one who was formerly his confidential associate. The new book is published under the title, "Angles and Women". Scriptual citations are given. An appendix is added. Pastor Russell remarked that at some opportune time the book, revised, should be published.

  As to it's being a violation of the Vow to read his book, such an idea is not worthy of consideration. It would be no more wrong to read it than to read "What say the scriptures about spiritism' or "talking with the dead"; for both these books quote much as to what the evil spirits do. Many have derived much benefit from reading "Angels and Woman" because it aids in getting a clearer vision of how Satan overreached the angels and overreached the human race, and caused all the havoc amongst men and the angels. It helps one to a better understanding of the devil's organization.

  By the bible, the WT and it's leaders are the apostates. From the old testament to the new, all the signs of false brothers, false prophets, wolves in sheeps clothing, the bad shepherds, to obey them and not check and verify their teachings, the deceptions and lies, etc, seem to match them and their teachings.

  the wbats have ramped up no college for jws once again.

  the first time they backed off of it is because they noticed a person flipping hamburgers or cleaning toilets are not able to donate much money... so the wtbats says lets allow them to at least get a 2 year degree, then they can donate a little more... this goes on for awhile, but then the wbats notice that many who go to college are leaving...

  well because they gain knowledge and distance themselves from the cult and it's ignorance, have access to outside sources, and eventually learn ttatt!!!

  I predict unless they find they lose too many members this way, is that in the future they may give a green light on higher education if it results in a good paying job and they tithe 10% plus. It would be spun as some spend fulltime in service, and some will support more financially, if they do higher education, they need to cough up more donations.
