Another thing to look up would be his names in the languages used. Jesus is a greek name. In hebrew it would be Yeshua I believe, which translated to english is Joshua. So documents written in greek then translated to english would say Jesus. If any ancient hebrew references, if translated to english would be Joshua or Yeshua.

The GB will prob spin this as attack on religion, especially considering this.....
The WT teaches the wild beast or babylon attacked JW's in 1917 or 1918 and it was the prophesied 2 witnesses in revelation who arose after 3 days, when after 3 years they were back in business.
The true story was after WW1 began, the government put into law that promoting sedition / telling others not to join the army, etc, was illegal. That was in law, then a couple years after, Rutherford is having the bible students selling his book all over the country door to door that is telling people not to join, etc. They weren't arrested because of just preaching in general, it was because of breaking a sedition law. But they put a spin on that to make them look like a martyr. On top of it, they weren't really a religion, just bible students.

April 2014 WT is up, more attacks on career and unbelieving family!
by EndofMysteries inhere are some highlights from the magazine.
the first article, "imitate the faith of moses", teaches how moses didn't remain in pharohs court, they then skillfully spin getting a decent paying job and career as equaling "enjoyment of sin", and how those who have "enjoyment of sin" will die at armageddon with everyone else who enjoys their job.
here are some quotes from the article.... "when tempted to engage in sinful conduct, ask, what future do i want for myself?....

flipper - Exactly. I hate how the cost of living is majorly increasing, if any good comes of it, it may wake people up. With forced insurance or penalty with obamacare, food, electric, insurances, rent, everything going up, those who didn't prepare for retirement and those who like Sophia in the example soon won't be able to make ends meat, might realize those men in headquarters are talking out of their heiny.
Their spin also doesn't make logical sense. If somebody pursues a good paying job/career, they label it as materialistic/putting God 2nd place.
Somebody who spends 2 to 4 years getting an education to earn 40 to 100k a year on average vs somebody who just earns 15 to 25k a year.
In a family, both husband and wife will be forced to work if they follow WT advice, vs possibly only the husband if the wife wants to care for kids or pioneer. Also if they earn more, they can work less which means more service and more donations.
They are just obsessed with controlling every aspect of someones life. I am starting to put together a page/information quoting phrases for every little detail of control they do, already it includes things such as instructions on during a wedding how many guests you can invite, if you have people over your home on how loud the volume of music should be and how much somebody can talk until you need to tell them to let others talk, etc.

If any religion would get banned/attacked first it would be islam/muslim. The majority of those people are good, but their extremists are the main religions that kill in the name of it. However I think banning it would be unlikely, look at what a small percentage does, if they attempted to ban it, imagine if most/all became that way.

This isn't the UN turning on religion. It's no attack on being catholic or catholic beliefs or the bible. It's on religion not able to get away with criminal activity.

Proof the anointed aren't being resurrected yet.....
by EndofMysteries inthe society teaches that since around 1919 the anointed who have died and do die, are resurrected as spirit creatures.
the only one to be resurrected as a spirit that is documented in the bible is jesus.
when jesus was resurrected, did he appear to his disciples yet his body was still buried?

Rattigan - you actually believe the kingdom was established 3.5 years after 1914? If all theology that is sound, the entire 1914 date has more holes then swiss cheese. Do you also believe the 7 trumpets of revelation are fullfilled by 7 district conventions out of order?

The extant manuscripts of the writings of the 1st century Romano - Jewish historian Flavius Josephus include references to Jesus and the origins of Christianity . [1] [2] Josephus' Antiquities of the Jews , written around 93–94 AD, includes two references to Jesus in Books 18 and 20 and a reference to John the Baptist in Book 18 . [1] [3]

What puzzles me Perry is how they didn't know his face, they had to see the holes in his hand. Why didn't his body w/ the holes look the same?

One tidbit to get you started on your quest.....Compare what happens at the end of the 1,000 year reign with the entire chapters of Ez 38 and 39. What is interesting is that the society seems to say Ez 38/39 represent JW's and that happens just around the corner, then after that, after 1,000 years, are the events of the end of the 1,000 year reign in Revelation. But to me both seem to be talking about the same identical event.
Also it's interesting how in the Ezekiel version, the Israelites are NOT serving God when he returns. And how they were scattered then regrouped as a nation. Paul even talked about the olive tree, how Israelites were temporarily blinded until all the gentiles come in.
Anyway, if you get into looking that stuff up, it'll open more doors and you'll learn how little the JW's know.

Did any bethelites here see first hand books of magic and witchcraft in their library?
by EndofMysteries inanother thread made me remember hearing rumors of books of witchcraft and such found in if not the main library a restricted library at bethel, for research purposes.
i wonder if anyone here had seen those first hand and if so, what exactly were the names of the books?

What a horrible story. It's disgusting what they do to the older ones. Atleast they let those ones stay, I hear many are just kicked out to live on welfare retirement.
