  O and before anybody tells the author of the above article to "read a basic book" here is a little bit about her....

  Leslie Wickman, Ph.D., is the Director of the Center for Research in Science (CRIS) at Azusa Pacific University (APU). She is an internationally respected research scientist, engineering consultant, and inspirational speaker.

  For more than a decade Wickman was an engineer for Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space, where she worked on NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and International Space Station Programs, receiving commendations from NASA for her contributions and being designated as Lockheed's Corporate Astronaut.

  She currently also works part-time as a research scientist with government think tanks on technical and political aspects of national aerospace and defense issues. Some of her recent projects include climate change research, assessment of future human spaceflight missions and technologies, human factors problems for extreme environments, fighter pilot proficiency training, and sustainable water reclamation and agriculture.

  Dr. Wickman has lectured around the world on satellite servicing, spaceflight physiology, astronaut training and operations, as well as various topics in astronomy, environmental stewardship, and the interface between science and theology.

  There are some questions I have had about the JWs view "post-Armaggeddon"

  i have always wondered how jws believe about "post-armaggeddon" earth.

  question#1 how will jws survivors bury all of the dead bodies.

  with about 4 billion people on earth today how can 8 million jw(1/2 of them children and babies) bury all of those dead bodies?

  On the other end of it, I can see those in 70CE, when Jesus said they should run when Jerusalem is surrounded by armies saying, "NO,,,,,,it says in Ezekiel that fire will wipe out the armies. "

  booker-t - what JW's view as armageddon is a mixing of several different events and timelines as well as whether it's worldwide or in a certain location.

  This isn't really the JW view, but it's interesting what Ezekiel 38/39 speaks about an event that JW's apply to themselves. JW's say they will be surrounded or attacked after false religion is wiped out, then God destroys everybody else.

  They get that from Ezekiel 38 and 39. If you read teh whole chapter its actually talking about israel being scattered then rejoined as a nation. They still aren't serving God. Then they are surrounded by armies and as they go to attack them, fire comes down from heaven and they are destroyed, another scripture I think in zephaniah or zechariah says some of those who come up against them will have their flesh rot while yet alive.

  They will have to gather and bury for 7 years all those of gogs crowd in the valley of Gogs crowd. Anybody who isn't one designated to collect and bury bodies if they pass one must leave a marker for others to see to collect it. Also it says the birds and beasts of the field will eat them too.

  What does have my interest on those scriptures is they predicted Israel being scattered, they predicted them being rejoined as a nation, and with all the middle east against them, it's interesting if any of it is related or a huge coincidence.

  just wondering which is your favorite translation of the bible?

  we only have the nwt (pre 2013 revision) here, curently.

  but i wouldnt be opposed to having another translation to refer to....

  For important things and learning what the bible really says I use http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/Hebrew_Index.htm Using it I've seen how all english translations omitt things which don't seem to make sense or seem irrelavant. I've found several times those omissions and changes hide and change what the real message had been.

  CO visit

  it's the co visit in our hall this week.

  last night he gave a talk about all the changes that have taken place in the last few years, like the change in the book study arrangement and the changes in public forms of witnessing, the rise and importance of jw.org.

  he then emphasised what our reaction to these should be.

  Listen, Obey, and be blessed.

  The WT teaches that being human and alive is a bad thing.

  In their perfect world all people are nothing more then robots without human needs. No need for feelings, family, recreation, eating, drinking, health, wait a second they are talking about that at the district convention this year :)

  Need advice for asking a girl out

  well long story short, i've been meaning to ask this girl at school out for a while but i can never do it because her friends are always there in the way and i would prefer to ask her in person.

  we've liked each other for a while (i was oblivious until about a month or two ago) and i'm also i bit worried she'll get tired of waiting.. i was just wondering if anyone had any advice or something that they could give me.

  hmm you sound young. Girls like confidence, if you don't ask because too afraid or shy with others around, it will turn out bad. Here are some easy options.

  1. When you are next to her, get into a conversation with just her. Her friends can be around and talking but it's just both of you talking. Bring up something about an upcoming movie you want to see, or some fun activity, and if she seems interested as well, then casually ask her if she wants to go to it with you. (but it seems you don't have her phone/facebook/email/etc yet and since you seem a bit shy, it might be hard for you to get that 'after' that point which brings #2 option...)

  2. Facebook, instagram, snapshot, etc, tons of excuses to get her phone number or contact info where you can then text/email/etc. You can casually ask over that too if you really have a problem asking in person.

  Just got a call from an elder

  so i faded over a year ago...i told the elders that if i needed them i would call them.

  1 year and 3 months later, today, i get a call from an elder who used to be my good friend...he calls and i dont pick up..he leaves a voicemail, saying "hello ____, please call me back at 444-444-4444 whenever you can".

  i was like wow, this has to be one of those calls to get inactive ones back to the memorial.

  When did the arrangement change from congregation servant to elders

  does anyone remember when the arrangement changed from having 1 congregation servant to the body of elders arrangement.. i have been out of the religion for so long i am getting a little rusty on the changes that happened.

  i am writing down my memoirs and right now i am recounting my teenage years as the daughter of a congregation servant.

  there was a big change in our family life when i was 15 because of the change in the arrangement.

  with the decease of guy pierce, i was thinking tonight about the day i shook hands with albert d. schroeder.. it was during his zone visit talk in a convention hall in the netherlands.

  i was 12 and walked with my father in the hall.

  I remember when I was maybe 9 years old, Karl Klein visited. Not only could I not understand a single word from marble mouths talk, but he was a mean cranky old man. I just remember he yelled at us kids for something.
