What is this new jw.org religion?

i recently was on a trip in central america.

any kingdomhall i passed by had jw.org banners or scribble that went over what used to say kingdomhall.

in a flea market, and other business areas, i saw the infamous literature cart out.

Yea. It's 2014, 100 years of failures and failed prophecies and lies and flip flops, so the GB needs to do these outrageous displays to keep them occupied and not thinking.

I recently was on a trip in Central America. Any kingdomhall I passed by had jw.org banners or scribble that went over what used to say kingdomhall. In a flea market, and other business areas, I saw the infamous literature cart out.

Then on youtube one can find videos of concerts and entire congregations breaking down to the song, "I'm happy" inside these jw.org buildings like a crazy penecostal church.

What happened to the Kingdomhall/Watchtower religion of 4 years ago where even playing music at one's own wedding reception was discouraged because kingdom melodies would be more appropriate and where the only time you'd encounter that religions adherants was when they would be pounding on your door on a Saturday morning?

That was one of my biggest problems and hard to accept doctrines when I was in. Everybody who dies at armageddon is gone forever because right up to that time, it was supposed to be SO OBVIOUS to the entire world that JW's were the true religion and everybody in every other religion were PURPOSEFULLY going against God and rejecting his true religion. Even w/ all the failed predictions, changes, and horrible success rate, and flip flops, it should still have been obvious to the whole world that the WT was the true religion.

How does the new breed of 'werecats' fit into evolution?

incase you haven't heard yet, there is now a new breed of cat, the lykoi.

now this cat is the result of some mutation that occassionally happened and some breeders got 2 of these cats that got this mutation and successfully breed them, and now there are breeders and it's a type of cat now.

this cat has a preditory nature, they say it's similar to a hound dog.

Now here is where my questions about evolution come into play on this.

There was no long slow period of change. No thousands of years for this cat to become more predatory, or slow change on fur not being needed and the change, etc.

In 1,000 years, people of the future may come up with how this cat evolved over millions of years when in reality it just appeared out of the blue, and taking 2 with the same changes and mating them created this new breed.

If I recall correctly, hasn't there been many arguments about God putting characteristics into genetics and breeds or species just happening vs all species, etc, from a slow evolution process?

Have you ever been called for Jury Duty? before or after registering to vote?

i've never been called for jury duty and i'm not yet registered to vote, although i'm hoping to get that done this month.

i know someone who within a few months of registering to vote was called for jury duty.

i've read some articles that said voter records 'used' to be used to call on people but that was a thing of the past.

Also the fact jurors aren't compensated, (not even minimum wage just a few dollars a day, not enough to even pay for their lunch), I'm sure has an impact on cases. How many jurors just go with the flow to end the case sooner, etc?

I am really wanting to register to vote and will but dreading a scenario like the above, getting called every year, etc. I agree it's a duty but if a case or serving goes past a day or 2, then the buck should stop there for those called and they should be appropriately compensated. Or the judge can do his duty or the lawyers and donate their own pay. The court system and lawsuits, cases, cost so much money yet they expect jurors to work for free even if week/month,etc. I'd be really pissed off if every year got called and expected to give my vacation each year to work for free.

I know someone who within a few months of registering to vote was called for jury duty. I've read some articles that said voter records 'used' to be used to call on people but that was a thing of the past. Since I've never been called, I'm curious how many of you have been called for jury duty since most of us hadn't been registered to vote until after leaving the borg, and many may still not be.

If I do get called after I register I'll update this post too.

Corpus Linguistics - Text Analysis of All Watchtower Publications since 1800's

i've been working on a side project for a while.

the goal of the project is to create a comprehensive database of all publications throughout history.

with this database i will be able to instantly find trends in text,sentiment of writing, methods used, and scriptures emphasized.. essentially i will be able to put a word like "apostate" into my tool, and instantly receive a report showing every time the word (or similar words) has been used in all publications since 1870.. i will also be able to create reports showing word density used in publications over time.. so i'll be able to see that the word "governing body" has increased in usage 25% year over year since 1975.. or i will be able to analyze the november 2014 wt and run an algorithm that helps to determine, what the tone and motive of the writing is.. the thing that i am most excited about is the ability to instantly find every occurence of a scripture in every publication.. this will be a great tool to find flip flops in doctrine as well as inaccuracies in biblical interpretation.. i will for sure publish all interesting findings here.. .
