This is for all JW's out there...
by Divergent in.
sorry to be so blunt, but you only have yourself to blame if you realize something is wrong but allow your cognitive dissonance to kick in.
if you are confronted with facts which are reported by reliable sources which are hard to dispute and deny, and you choose to dismiss these as "apostate lies" rather than looking at these from an objective point of view, it's your fault and you deserve the consequences of willful ignorance!.

divergent - did you stop there or did you figure out that news, government, doctors, society, etc all fall into that too? At a certain point just end up isolated. -

Jan 2016 study WT attempt to keep control of professed anointed ones, brainwashing in action!
by EndofMysteries ina really great example of wt pulling doctrine out of their heiney that nowhere exists in the scriptures!
when i started waking up to ttatt, i remember in my own reading the tons of scriptures that speak of god, the holy spirit, etc teaching directly.
tons of scriptures that go against the wt doctrine of only able to learn through them.

A really great example of WT pulling doctrine out of their heiney that nowhere exists in the scriptures!
When I started waking up to TTATT, I remember in my own reading the tons of scriptures that speak of God, the holy spirit, etc teaching directly. Tons of scriptures that go against the WT doctrine of only able to learn through them.
The Jan 2016 WT attempts to diffuse one of the strongest scriptures. In the article, "The Spirit Bears Witness With Our Spirit" par 10 says....
10. What does 1 John 2:27 mean when it says that an anointed Christian does not need someone else to teach him?
10 Those who receive this invitation from God do not need anyone else to tell them that they have been anointed. Jehovah makes them feel convinced. The apostle John tells anointed Christians: “You have an anointing from the holy one, and all of you have knowledge.” He also says: “As for you, the anointing that you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to be teaching you; but the anointing from him is teaching you about all things and is true and is no lie. Just as it has taught you, remain in union with him.” (1 John 2:20, 27) Anointed Christians need to be taught by Jehovah(GOVERNING BODY) just like everyone else. But they do not need anyone to confirm that they are anointed. Jehovah has used the most powerful force, his holy spirit, to make it absolutely clear to them that they are!
Many have remarked how Jehovah and the governing body are very interchangeable. The GB say Jehovah teaches through them.
The scripture clearly says they don't need ANYBODY to be teaching them, the holy spirit is teaching them ALL THINGS and IS TRUE. It does NOT say the holy spirit is confirming they are anointed but still need to be taught by some governing body. They put that the annointed need to be taught by Jehovah just like everyone else so in their minds it translates to "taught by the WT just like everyone else" and that any thought or flash of light that the scripture means they DON"T need the WT is misinterpretation, that they just don't need anybody to confirm they are annointed.

by lambsbottom inhave a bible question.
been reading the arguments for the "faithful & wise servant" of mt.

You know how in the gospels many parts are repeated, some illustrations have brief summaries and some in the other gospels had more details. W/ the faithful slave scripture in Matt 24. the WT PURPOSELY avoids ever mentioning the FULL version in Luke 12:42-48 because the full version shows beyond a doubt that it's a parable just like the bride grooms, just like the slaves given money and what they do with it, etc.
If you notice in the Luke version, The one who knows what he was to do and DID it is rewarded well. Then an evil slave, then the slave who knew what he was to do but did not do it getting punished, and then the slave who did NOT know what he was to do so even though deserving punishment will be slap on a wrist.
So the full version in Luke throws away the societies explanation!

The right to shun - wrong?
by Simon inmany people are understandably upset and angry at the notion that jws have the right to shun people.
it seems such an obvious "no brainer" cruel and inhuman thing to do - it must be wrong ... surely?.
of course we look at things from the perspective of those hurt and harmed by shunning.

Can't put it a law against the people, but against the organization I think it's VERY possible! The organization is the one who tells the members to shun the people, even family, not even emailing them if they leave the religion.
For wanting religious freedom but denying people the RIGHT 'to seek happiness', 'for their OWN religious freedom', by telling their own friends and family they must be shunned should and hopefully soon will be legally forced to stop that. THEN as in all other religions, it's up to people on their own if they shun or not, NOT w/ the organization telling them to do so.

Got a call from a relative that I should go to the meeting this Sunday because something major to be announced. (They were told it has to do with branches closing down, missionaries being sent home, etc). I said it's probably money. They are speculating maybe the GB got new light and that maybe it will be declared witnessing is done, shutting down factories, missionaries being sent home, etc. They also said that kingdomhalls with one congregation are being sold and they are being joined with others and they are trying to fit 4 congregations per KH.
Anybody have a leaked letter or the video of what will be shown on Sunday?

Question: What would it take to get the BORG'S tax exempt status REVOKED?
by Black Man ini've always wondered about this.
i've always felt the main reason the borg made publishers do time slips/field service reports was to show that they are doing a community service to justify their tax exempt status.
we all know about their money grabs with the kh build scams, their selling off millions of dollars in real estate, etc.

All other churches actually give to the poor though and at least to their own members. WT does NONE of that. It's own members must go to other churches for food, etc.

What's the craziest thing someone INFORMED on you about?
by Londo111 inthe culture of jws as encouraged by the watchtower is one of informing on one another, reporting to either the elders or ones designated head.
whats the wackiest thing that someone reported on you?
im not talking about a black-and-white watchtower rule that would land you in a judicial committee, but some judgmental nonsense that someone thought they should turn you in about?.

- Used to go swing dancing back in the day, late 90's when I was a teen and some elder from another hall I didn't even know was calling around informing people I was bad association because I went out 'too much'.
- When I was a kid, lived in one of the North Eastern states and for the first time, in my life at least, the whole congregation was having a cookout at a park and playing vball, etc. My mom was video taping a lot of it and calling it the "the xxxxxxx congregation picnic", this bitchy old elders wife blurts out, "ITS NOT A CONGREGATION PICNIC!!!! STOP SAYING THAT!!!" :my mom: "It's not?" (She's still recording btw so this is on tape) :crankly elders wife: (clears her throat to calm down) "no, the society said we can't call these congregation picnics so it's just a gathering"

My theory is everything except where the GB live may be shut down and stopped. THey'll keep taking the KH contributions because the whole point was to get those commitments and funds before telling everybody NO MORE PRINTED MATERIAL. Will make it all online and people print their own stuff. They might even say, "NEW LIGHT: Most of our books and magazines are just regurgitated material, instead of wasting paper we'll direct you what to read from previous material" etc.
Won't be surprised if almost everything is online, they keep taking KH money, and GB live luxuriously.

How do we know the WTS monitors this site? Can anyone tell me for sure?
by LevelThePlayingField ini keep hearing this in threads.....

Not sure. They have monitored my website in the past. See below PDF document for proof:
Having looked at that, and the email address, shows that lawyer/or lawyer wannabe is from Bethel. I wonder since he must have READ and seen those things, if in time any of them wake up to TTATT. Or he must get paid or many fringe benefits to stay in knowing TTATT.
