  Why Rational People Buy Into Conspiracy Theories?

  my wife is taking a literature course at a local college.

  this was her final topic of the semester: why rational people buy into conspiracy theories?i automatically thought of this site and of jws.

  the jws i knew, were the kind of people that would believe in conspiracy theories, and i noticed a small following on this site.. the article that was referenced for this course was: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/26/magazine/why-rational-people-buy-into-conspiracy-theories.html?_r=0.

  To answer your question on 911 conspiracy stuff......being one who doesn't believe the official story, here are a few reasons I don't. The reason I believe in any as well are because looking at more facts than most have looked into, many things don't add up. I called the Ahmed hoax the day I saw the news, and when nobody was questioning anything, not because I desired anything but things didn't add up. With 911, things really don't add up! Here are a few examples.

  1. The Pentagon

  A. Out of all the security, only 1 cam that doesn't really show anything.

  B. The pictures and video right after impact before it collapsed showed a circular hole with intact undamaged windows on both sides. No wings were detached at any point, and no wing damage hitting the building, as if the airplane was a rocket instead. If an airplane with a huge wingspan crashes into a building, I expect either damage w/ the wings going through teh building as well or the wings on the ground. Not a tiny hole with no surrounding damage.

  2. PA flight

  A. Looking at plane crashes, tons of debris, etc, everywhere. Yet the whole plane and all bodies just vaporized? Didn't at all look like a plane crash site.

  3. WTC 7 - no airplane or anything hit this building, yet you can see in the video, it just imploded. A fire on the top floor of a skyscrapper. That day those 3 buildings went down just from fire. Yet everywhere else in the world and other times in USA w/ fires they won't take a building down, need a controlled demolitian. Also rocket fuel won't melt steel. Pictures of molten steel and metal from the trade towers, looking just like thermite went through them.

  4. Immediately after this, the anthrax scare. Which was traced to a government facility. The person supposedly responsible ended up dead before could be questioned and "case closed, nothing else to see here, move along."

  So are some of the major ones for me but there are a TON more things too! No idea why it would have happened, motive, etc, but I think there is a lot more to it then has ever and will ever be told. Looking back since then the only thing I can possibly think would be war mongering and profiteers. The 500+ billion a year. So far the military industrial complex has made a lot of money off it.

  Anyway whether inside job or more to the story or not, it won't change my life so I don't waste time thinking about it since my initial research.

  Can you prove that WT policy of shunning is unscriptual? Will soon be discussing with somebody, give me all your ammo!

  so any scriptures, articles whether wt articles or secular about effects of shunning, etc, or your arguments against how wt interprets their scriptures, etc.

  Soon the GB will sell all KH's so they can make a lot of money, have everybody watch meetings from home. For the meetings everybody logs in from home, and for the WT study if you want to comment the speaker sees a notification of whose raising their hands and one gets to comment and be shown on video. For this service without having a KH, they'll have a mandatory $14.95 monthly donation per publisher for the service. Field circus meetings will be at old bookstudy homes.

  Are the horrendous killings in Paris part of a religious practice?

  seems there are many religions who do not tolerate other groups.

  this statement "islam is a religion of war, not a religion of peace" reminded me of what was said at a watchtower convention in 2013 ....using a chilling example of how they condone dis fellowshipping & the soul killing practice of shunning!

  I'd be surprised 100% if the Borg DOES NOT publish a WT study about these Paris terrorist attacks tied-in with religion and Babylon the Great.

  No, they want to be as broad as possible since they have a 100% failure rate on predictions and interpretations. They don't want it kicking them years later. They'll just word things that Lett will understand. "Things are bad, people are dying, the end is SOOO close! Anyday now!! We now have credit card swipers at the donation boxes, run up your credit for the faithful slave, the end is so close you'll never need to pay it back!!"

  15 was, "we cannot actually see jesus, sohow can we look intently at him?".

  i have never but here's two i've thought of, 1) replace the liquid soap with glue 2) smear nutella everywhere in the bathroom!.
