Pistoff - okay, so the evidence of prejudice and discrimination is because blacks are more incarcerated than whites and pulled over by cops for no reason.

I'd like to fairly discuss this issue. I have been pulled over ONCE in my life for 'no reason'. I'm white. I was pulled over when I had a job which involved me driving to prospect customers homes to give a presentation. Sometimes I would get early or have to pull over the side of the street to get a map or wait. Now in this part of town, I tried to avoid pulling over because ANYWHERE in this area if I pulled over, a black man would appear from nowhere looking at me and trying to get my attention/see if I want to buy drugs. This isn't just one street but anywhere in this town. Were there drug dealers on every ounce of town that if they saw a white man in a car parked they assumed they wanted to buy drugs? Anyway it was driving through this town, (after not having pulled over at all but just on the way to a place) that I was pulled over for no reason. The cops asked what I was doing, where I was going, and finally said stuff happened nearby and just wanted to check about me. I can't think of any other neighborhoods anything like that would happen to me at.

Now the question, are cops pulling over blacks and way more blacks in jail than whites due to prejudice or is it due to a larger percentage of blacks happen to commit crime? As shown by so many comments and the examples that many who go for education and a career they can earn enough money to live off of end are spoken badly and said they are being too white, is it logical that all those who don't get education are pushed to crime to make a living, and those who embrace thug lifestyle? Is it that so many fatherless boys are not being guided to a good life and end up in crime?

Definitely show me where and if I am wrong, but if the majority of those blacks incarcerated because they were only raised by 1 parent or grandparent and didn't finish school because they didn't want to be a traitor to their community and act too white, are not those the things causing them to be incarcerated? How many of those are drug only offenses vs ones including theft and violence? And again correct me where this is wrong, but it seems prejudice is being blamed when that's not the reality. (not saying it doesn't happen, but the majority is not due to that).

No protests this year. I'm assuming it's because the WTS this year decided to hold conventions in the cheapest and most dangerous areas in the country, so would be protestors had no desire to get mugged on the way or home from the protest, etc.

Question to any practicing JWs

a devoutly born-again christian man, who strives to live every facet of his life in accordance with what is written in the gospels, spends all of his time helping the poor, reading his bible cover-to-cover, living an austere life and genuinely feels that his life is motivated by his love of christ.

a real christian in practice, both public and private.

Mr. Falcon = I asked the same question to one of my hardcore/judgemental relatives and this was their answer,

"It doesn't matter how good, how sincere, how much they help the poor, how much they believe in the bible, etc they are, if they aren't part of Jehovah's visible organization which the bible clearly says is through a faithful and discreet slave, then they will die at armageddon."

Now when I myself was a JW, a few years before TTATT, I started to think about this and I couldn't agree and believe that they would be killed. Then one day I read a scripture about how everybody would get a fair judgement in Romans 2:14-16

14 For whenever people of the nations that do not have law do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. 15 They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them and, between their own thoughts, they are being accused or even excused. 16 This will be in the day when God through Christ Jesus judges the secret things of mankind

That above scripture shows those who don't know God's will, but who follow the command of love and their conscience, that is part of the 'secret things' that will be judged.

BU2B - Yea, I bet it was really hard. I had a black gf who was a lighter tone and had a lot of the same issues. She also did good in school and got a good career. But her whole life, she was said she was too white, or skin too light color, so she was outcast by blacks, then when she dated white guys she shouldn't be doing that. I know there are also white racists out there. So being bi racial must be really hard, having racists on both sides against you. Hopefully you've been able to find decent normal people to fit in with and make friends with who don't care about skin color.

Pistoff, who is the repressed and underrepresented minority? There are no repressed and underrepresented minorities since the 1960's in this country. This news story and the tons of comments show the true cause. If the majority of a minority refuse to get educated and good jobs and bully those who do, how is that being repressed? If they refuse to get educated and a good job or have no interest in jobs that give them representation for their community how is that anybody's fault?

Now, if I was going to post on things happening to white, the only thing that is happening to whites is constant crime from racism and some how they are never punished for hate crimes. For example last night, if you google, "kroger mob" a group of 20 black teens randomly ran through and beat up white people unconscious and laughed about it. The lady filming was laughing and saying, "oo hold on, they got a white dude!" http://www.wbtv.com/story/26470713/im-that-white-guy-customer-thinks-he-sees-flash-mob-attacked-by-teenagers the group of blacks who raped, tortured, and murdered a white couple in ohio not charged in hate crime, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murders_of_Channon_Christian_and_Christopher_Newsom or that detroit man who pulled over to help the black boy he hit when he jumped infront of his truck and was beat by a mob blacks, only a minor was charged with a hate crime (because he would get out earlier). or how about the marine about a week or 2 who was beaten by a mob of black guys after he was told he shouldn't go into a waffle house because all the black people were mad about the Ferguson incident. If any of these above things were reversed, there would be more riots, looting, destruction going on.

This crap seems to be getting worse and worse and needs to stop. Look at the comments of those stories. Arms are being bought at record numbers and you see many whites saying how they are feeling they need to be armed to be safe and if they got attacked by a mob, they would unload on them. No idea where you live, but as somebody who lives in a very diverse area, it's concerning where things are heading.

To Pistoff - I'll add this too. I know it's politically incorrect to bring up anything about race in the USA unless it related to white on black crime or black oppression. The opposite is generally regarded as racist and anybody who brings up the opposite may have their motives questioned or viewed racist. I've had a black girlfriend before and she went through exactly what happened in the story and original post of this thread. There are many black people I like a lot and have some very close black friends (probably one of the only good things that came from being a JW). Anyway I posted this and the other because in the 1960's, the RIGHT thing was done and things should have been getting better, what else needs to be done to give blacks opportunity, or how are they still being repressed? I see things getting worse and my future, the future of this country, etc, heading in a bad direction because there is obviously a very big problem brewing and silence on the issue is not helping at all. As with the mobs and black on white crime, obviously many are angry at whites. The mob at Kroger, or the man in Detroit, none were alive in the 1960's. You have Al Sharpton screaming oppression on blacks but I never see any examples. Anyway I have no problem bringing up these things because I feel the stigma needs to be broken about discussion of it and since leaving the JW's, I am trying to get involved, voting etc. I am against oppression and discrimination. If there is any against blacks, I would stand with them for changes. I don't see it though, I only see hate being passed down for the actions of whites pre 1960s (but also many whites including during that time fought with blacks to get them rights as well). Anyway as soon as the stigma is removed, then these things can be discussed nationwide by everybody and addressed or everybody keeps silent and allows a race war to keep brewing.

i can only imagine what they do off camera now!!!.

What do you guys think of this July 14 WT quote about 'a spiritual brother', " has completely avoided dancing even at Witness gatherings". You think it's ridiculous to make a big deal out of the GB dancing at witness gatherings after they are talking down about it.

Now if it was any other religion, then it would be ridiculous to make a big deal out of it BECAUSE other religions don't care about dancing. (except muslims in Iran, the happy dance people arrested). It's like the police chief who arrested them for dancing, if he was suddenly caught dancing himself.

some comments from the messages on that story....." Same thing happened to me throughout my entire youth, by both classmates and family alike. Just because I was intelligent, well mannered, actually cared about school (or at least doing good in it) and talked proper (no Ebonics or slang) I was considered and verbally called "white boy" by other black students and a significant number of family members (young and old, yes elder uncles and aunties would call me that behind my back). I've been beaten up before by classmates because of this and of course when teachers found out they'd intervene, but considering these were inner city public schools, you can imagine how much that did for me. I've had to force myself to use more slang just to keep them off of me (again, little help)."

" This is ridiculous. Back in college, I worked at a subway during the summers. There was a black guy there who would constantly call me "Oreo" because I was white on the inside and black on the outside. One day I asked him why he called me that. He said that because I live in the suburbs, go to a university, and speak proper English that I acted white. Now that's when I really become offended; that he would associate all these negative things with being black and then to be PROUD of it and try to shame me because I wasn't BLACK enough? One day he came in and said "hey Oreo!" after I told him not to call me that. My shift was over so as I left I told him, "you're insulting yourself and you don't even know it."
