A Northern California jury has awarded $28 million in damages to a woman who said the Jehovah’s Witnesses allowed an adult member of a Fremont, Calif., church to molest her when she was a child.

Solid evidence?
How about common sense for starters.....who pays WT lawyers? Who paid to defend the candace conti case? Who pays legal fees? Where are the millions award to Candace conti coming from? All off this is from your donations.
here are some articles about donations for the WT
http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20121201/helping-the-needy/#?insight[search_id]=63ac647d-2013-4cae-8d66-b86578233d07&insight[search_result_index]=10 this one speaks about Christmas and giving to the poor. Notice they bring out how the apostle paul had people put aside money to help THE POOR. BUT the very next sentence the governing body claim that helping to the poor is equivalent to giving money to " to an organization that uses its funds wisely". That's because the WT doesn't give anything to the poor, even it's own members. So in this case, the governing body will wisely be using contribution funds to defend against pedophile lawsuits that may financially hurt them or hurt their image.
THIS is a recent article....http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20141215/jehovah-blesses-willing-spirit/#?insight[search_id]=017dc813-dcd8-457e-80a6-f805e488bad8&insight[search_result_index]=2 Now if you have ever read the bible, you'll know that Apostle Paul tried to work and not have the congregations support him. Also money was set aside for the poor. However this article again uses that to try to get people to put money for them.

A big bang from a previous universe compacted into one big mass makes more sense than out of nothing....
by EndofMysteries ini've been learning a lot more about the universe, galaxies, planet formations, etc.
it's amazing how stars are constantly recycled, they form from gathering all the dust/gas/mass around them, the heat and pressure as the mass gets larger, producing stronger gravity, and depending on it's makeup creates fusion, turning into a star, then when it dies, it turns into a supernova, explodes, and sends it's matter out there for other stars to form, etc.
now galaxies do the same thing, and supposedly in many billons of years many galaxies will have eaten others, and if blackholes or something pulling in all the stars and mass is at the centers of these galaxies, then eventually everything would turn into one huge mass.

prologos - I don't know if you asked a question because a creator had nothing to do with what I said. It doesn't explain how things came to be, but if our universe was the result of a previous universe following the same pattern of stars, then it would be impossible since we would be the result of the destruction of something previously here.
As for how all of life got here and how we have nothing but hypothesis or theories, I like the quote from Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Birth-Mark", "Our great creative Mother, while she amuses us with apparently working in the broadest sunshine, is yet severly careful to keep her own secrets, and, in spite of her pretended openness, shows us nothing but results."

where did 'that' universe come from.
The best way to explain what I'm saying is imagine the universe is a nebulae. It eventually turns into a solid mass planet, then with enough mass fusion happens and it becomes a star, eventually it dies, becomes super nova, explodes, and all its mass and particles eventually combine again to form a star(s).
So if our Universe is in the phase after an exploding super nova, all the mass is combining, forming stars, galaxies, galaxies eating galaxies, etc, eventually will combine into one big mass and 'big bang' again.
As if the universe is like a giant beating heart. Expand, contract, expand, contract.
No idea if that's an actual theory or not and doesn't explain when or how it all started, but would explain how our current phase started.

None of this would explain the origin of life, but if something like this has been a cycle, then the origin of life would have been prior to our universe and somehow life survived when it last happened.

Michael Brown verdict discussion policy
by Simon init's likely that the grand jury verdict on the michael brown incident will be released in the coming days or weeks.. i've no doubt many people are going to feel strongly about things whatever the verdict is.. whatever the outcome though, here's what's not going to happen:.
we're not going to put up with inflamatory language and comments designed to rile others up.
be respectful.. we will not allow accusations of racism simply because some have a view of the verdict that contradicts others.. there will not be invented evidence or claims being repeated - if it's been falsely reported or debunked then it's off limits.. it's not going to be an opportunity for people to air past gripes over past discussions.. if you feel that you cannot discuss the subject in a rational way then it may be better to simply avoid any topics on the matter.. please try to be objective and respectful if you do decide to comment and not keen to take offense.

An 18 year old being a boy or a man depends on the news baiting agenda and angle.
Here is what I've observed.......
IMAGINE this 18 year old is the same person, here is how they will be described in all of these different scenarios
- any sort of white killing black and the black is 18 it's a 'boy' or 'child'.
- If an 18 year old(any race even though pretending all same person) is accused of something sexual against a 16 or 14 year old, then that 18 year old is a 'GROWN man'.
- If a 24 year old teacher has concentual sex with this 18 year old who is still in school, etc, but they are still 18 and legal age of consent, this 18 year old is a 'victim' a 'child' and the 24 year old is a perv. No matter which side is m/f,etc.
Let's pretend this 18 year old is now 16 or 17,
This 16 year old murders, or rapes, or robs somebody, they are a 'grown adult'.
A 20 year old has consentual sex with this 16 year old, they are a 'victim', a 'child'.
So here is the pattern, if it's a crime against them and they are 18, they are a 'child'. If they are the guilty one, they are a 'grown adult'.
The ONLY exception is if it is a white on black/black on white case, then the black person could be guilty of crimes, but they are still a child. (like the one who robbed the store, etc)

Shunning Disfellowshipped & Apostate family Members. Scriptural?
by objectivetruth inanyone who is a witness or was previously a witness, is aware of the written & un-written rules concerning association with disfellowshipped family members.. there are a multitude of quotes through out the watchtower publications, but these 2 will suffice.. "are you proving yourself holy by not associating with family members or others who are disfellowshipped?
"the clear instruction in the bible is: avoid them.
that means that we have to stay away from them... the bible says that apostates are mentally diseased and that they use their teachings to make others think like them... what must we do to avoid false teachers?

O and I almost forgot, one of the WT's favorites, since the GB are just like Moses and evidently have God's backing by their abilities to part waters, call fire from heaven, and anything they say that will happen does infact happen, that those who go against the GB are like Korah and will be destroyed. Yup, great point, and it's in a WT atleast once every other month or 3 months, so the sheep in the KH will comment on that to appear to be spiritual and according to the rules of brainwashing, if you read something and asked a question and answer it they way you are instructed it bypasses the bullcrap detector in your brain so you accept it as fact. Then if your friends or family may suspect you don't believe in the GB, they'll parrot the Korah example and think it was their own thinking and words that came up from that.

Nice reasoning without even using the scriptures that talk about shunning but just Jesus himself.
I've dissected the scriptures on shunning, and reading them in context, the WT did a lot of twisting to get it to follow their doctrine. They combine scriptures on a person who is involved and calls themself part of the congregation a member who is 'practicing' things against what the congregation believes is acceptable for them, scriptures on 'antichrists' who deny Jesus, and scriptures on those who seek to get followers for themselves, scriptures for all sorts of various things twisted together and reasoned that if you disagree with the 7 men you must worship in WT headquarters, you are rebelling against GOd and must be shunned.

Jehovah's organization growing like never before: but bible studies are way down. Huh?
by kneehighmiah inso the governing body likes to keep claiming incredible growth.
at the same time they claim bible studies are way down.
are the finally admitting what we've known all along, that they can no longer recruit outsiders?

the only growth is their coffers from selling the real estate and buildings built with donations and free labor, then demanding more free labor and donations to build because of the need, to then sell them for profit and rebuild again, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,
