Photoshop Op...
by oppostate inwouldn't it be great to see the big 8, wel the big 8 in the jw world not the national leaders big 8, ehem.. if they would all grow a beard for the next business meeting in october, where the nu-lite(r) is that beards are ok for men.. could someone photoshop one of the prevalent new smiley photos of the gb and put a few weeks of whisker growth on them?.
just wondering what it would look like.
not duck dynasty length, perhaps, but nicely trimmed full beards, or maybe goatees.. what do you think it would look like?

Do you even listen to yourself?
by doneandout inthe other night, the elder was getting us ready for our convention.
as i sat there, i was thinking, 'do you even listen to yourself?
' everything thing he said, said its going to suck.. bring a hat: its going to be sunny, prepared to get sunburned.. bring plenty of water: its going to be hot and sweaty.. parking is going to be bad: prepare to walk a mile to the site.. bring a fm radio: its going to be echoy inside.. .

From one convention to another the one thing that does stay with me has nothing to do with talks or dramas, it has to do with how stressful it was to arrange to be there and go through each day to be physically and mentally exhausted on Monday from the mind numbing and the directions to obey all weekend long.
Stress it my number one memory from attending each and every single event that's supposed to be a spiritual "holiday".

For me it's a matter of trust.
I no longer trust anything they print or proclaim during conventions, assemblies and meetings.
I am disgusted by all the rubbish they've force fed me and all those who've put their trust in them over the years.

by TJ Curioso inhi to all my fellows "apostates" in all world... especially in e.u.a.
and uk.. as some of you already know, ex-jw in portugal created a leaflet especialy to send to jw in all the country (individualy or to congregations).
we must say that it was a sucess from the point of view of the impact originated.

Do I get kudos for translating it into English or should I remain unmentioned like the WT writers.

The real reason for the new donation arrangement?
by redvip2000 inyesterday i was having a beer with a friend of mine who happens to be an accountant, and we began discussing this ridiculous arrangement that the watchtower has put in place.
after giving him the backstory of how the watchtower has been lending money to the local congregations and charging interest, he simply could not believe they had been doing that.. he then offered an explanation which really made sense to me.
he said that in reality what the watchtower society has been doing is actually not legal in light of their tax-exempt status.

At our last Serv Mtg it was announced that we had two resolutions to make.
1. Due to the slips turned in the congregation will be giving $1,200 p.mo. to the Building Committee for upkeep of the KH.
2. The congregation resolves to donate $850 p.mo. to the Kingdom Hall Building Fund.
They both passed almost unanimously. (... With only myself and two others I saw abstaining).
That's a monthly total of $2,050. (The other Cong. that shares the KH is making a similarly expensive resolution).
In the past the local contribution to the Building Committee was $1,475 p.mo. and always less than $100 for the KHBF.
There were quite a few months where the Cong. came up short last year.
How the heck do the elders think the publishers will really live up to contributing even more this coming service year?
Oh, and good-bye to the $14, 000 saved-up reserve in the Building Committee bank account as well.
