Do you believe Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body is the "faithful slave"?

this question is known to be posed by jws to other jws as an acid test of loyalty.

i'm not the first to notice what i'm about to point out and comment accordingly, but today i felt compelled to add a short article on my blog highlighting the new language that governing body member geoffrey jackson supplies as a response.

a person who honestly hesitates to respond with a robust "yes!

Using the word disciples left Jackson off the hook quite a bit.

The scriptures Jackson used to explain the GB's role of Guardians Of Doctrine (G.O.D.) clearly made the connection of the GB being equal to the 12 apostles, not just any disciples of Jesus two thousand years ago.

This is something that they haven't made so obvious in print, yet there you have it, the GB and the Apostles are the same class in Jackson's mind.

That certainly would seem very presumptuous and makes them similar to the mormon's who do call their own leadership "apostles".

Will Jehovah`s Witnesses join with other religions in Compensation Payouts ?

justice mcclellen asked g.jackson about compensation for victims of child abuse , and mcclellan suggested it be by a consortium of groups , presumably religious and secular in nature as a pool to dispense approppiate compensation to all of the victims involved .. g.jackson hesitated and said they would have to look at the details of that proposal , before committing to it.. jehovah`s witnesses consider themselves as the only true religion and ,all others as false religion .. they take pains to separate themselves from from any association with other religions , not even being included in newspaper notices about church services.they want to keep themselves separate and distinct from false religion as they see them.. so how do you think they will handle this suggestion / requirement ?

will they join in aligning themselves with "babylon the great" in compensation .?.

didn`t they align themselves with another religion in the u.s.a. some years ago , that had to do with the w.t.

If they could only keep it secret then yes, they'd pitch in with the rest.

But it's going to get out that they'd be joining up with other religions, so no deal--they would lose their freedom of speech on that one, spiritually speaking of course. But money talks louder.

In the end they'd have to weigh the cost, whether it's cheaper to pitch in with others or handle things on their own. And in this case the money may just be doing all the talking if they see the flood of victims claiming compensation.

Discussing the RC with a friend and my JW wife was listening.

i am fuming at the moment and my wife has made me so angry.. i live in germany and an ex jw, a friend of mine is also ex jw but does not understand english so i was giving him a rundown on the friday session of the rc with gj.

my wife was in another part of the house but heard my phone ring and so she came to listen, i did not realize this, because when the phone rang i closed two doors between myself and my wife.

she opened the first door and started listening to the conversation.

Your fight isn't with your wife nor with Jehovah. It may sound strange but that's how it seems to me--I've had so many arguments with my wife about the WT hierarchy!

Realizing that my wife is being mentally controlled isn't easy. I realize too that until a few years ago I was too.

The WT uses Jehovah as a strawman, a scapegoat to deflect blame for itself. I believe that in order to fight this battle one needs to see who the real enemy is. Not to be throwing punches at the air, but make each blow stick and find its target.

The real target is the people who control and support the WT.

Jehovah doesn't feel the pain when you strike out. What is really going to hurt the WT beast is to make it easier for people to wake up and stop supporting the WT with contributions and with free labor.

I hope you find some relief and peace. Don't blame or accuse your wife, she's been made to protect the WT through mind control, give her space and treat her like the victim of this cult that she really is.

Geoffrey Jackson: "That would be presumptuous of us"...

within the first few minutes, mr. stewart asked geoffrey jackson if the members of the governing body consider themselves to be god's spokesperson on earth.. his response: "that would be presumptuous of us" (implying that they don't consider themselves to be god's sole channel of communication).. to me, that was the worst lie of about 26 lies he's told during this hearing.

however, mr. stewart missed an opportunity to call out mr. jackson on this bold-faced lie.

he should have asked him to explain why the watchtower magazine teaches otherwise.

For this to have really worked in getting a truthful answer Mr. Stewart would have needed to quote WT publications and teachings that call the GB the only "channel" of communication to God.

Presumptuous is exactly what the GB and any of their helper supporters are being in teaching what the role of the GB is in the JW religion.

When Mr. Stewart then asks about the "anointed" and the "144,000" and has GJ go to the Branch Organization Manual, GJ quickly responds that this publication isn't a "constitution, nor a legal document, nor a contract". Interesting that even though it is none of those things it seems quite important that the WT Lawyer wanted to keep the document from being made available in its entirety.

What was it???

Well, it would actually be much easier to say what he actually said that wast true. Everything else was just veiled attempts to misdirect and qualify every of his answers so you weren't really sure what his (and the rest of the GB's) views were.

I think an important point was GJ says JW's don't believe in corporal punishment when the Bible says not to "spoil the rod". That was a big WTH moment, considering the constant practice of "disciplining" JW children in the back room for being antsy during two hour long boring meetings.

Also Mr. Steward guided him through how a person who wants to leave the organization has to face the devastating result that it may cost him/her friends, family, the only support community they know. GJ would not "accept" that this makes the WT religion a "captive organization".

And there were so many other points. Thanks to Controller the videos are being posted to YouTube.

After GJ concedes about the awfulness of the shunning practice, Mr. Stewart can't get him to make the logical step that this practice makes the JW religion a "captive" organization.

I guess you can lead a GB member to water, and Mr. Steward tried really hard, but you can't make him drink.

Governing Body = Guardians Of Doctrine = GOD

GJ was "over the top" in granting himself and the rest of his cabal interpretation privileges. He's more into the "interpretation" business than the "translation" business.

Several times he seemed to be "clarifying" that it "takes a village" to come up with their doctrines. Some old doctrines are thrown out like the baby with the bathwater when more beneficial and profitable doctrines come along.

To allow the Royal Commission to influence the GB's decisions is paramount to spiritual immorality, as they accuse other religions of being manipulated by governments. If we are to take their current doctrine as founded on Scripture (the "JW's constitution", how can the GB accept to be "forced" to change what they've been teaching as guided and lead by Holy Spirit?

GJ wants all the glory and none of the accountability.

Jackson said several times that they don't have a doctrine police who searches out wrong doing.

Well, what about sitting in a car stalking publishers who are suspected of of breaking rules? Driving by a member's house to see if they have Christmas decorations up, or if their car was parked outside someone's house all night?

So all faders, keep this video handy for when a bunch of nosey elders start getting judicial with you, you can get all Geoffrey Jackson on their asses.

It's so obvious to someone who's been in that this guy, Jackson, is either not acquainted with actual JW elders' practice or is being deceptive about what actually takes place.

Didn't we all sort of feel that was the case, that the GB are being used as figure heads pretty much?

So who really sets the doctrine and the procedures? Who comes up with the ideas?

Jackson sort of alluded more than once about the GB "helpers" 30 of them who are the ones quite active in researching and coming up with teachings for the GB to approve. Like the "overlapping generation" don't they just "love" that idea!!! Well, some helper must have come up with it and definitely not through divine inspiration.

Look out for a new congregation position for elders wives: Helper to the Elders

geoffrey jackson spent 20 minutes accepting the position that it is not scripturally prohibited for women to be used in the investigation process, although probably not the jc itself (he said he'd check the scriptures on that bit, but we can guess the outcome).. look out for the wives of elders jostling for and gaining these positions.

there will be no better opportunity for gossip mongers to raise their status in the congregation than being officially involved in the intimate private business of others in the congregation.. think of the power they will have in advising the elders on a jc if she thinks the victim is credible, with her opinion, bias and embellishments on the details.

i wouldn't fancy the chances of a victim who has previously fallen out with one of these 'helpers'.. whatever next, sisters handling microphones??!

Oh, Judas Priest!

I can just about imagine the sisters who get to "assist" with a case, forever after acting high and mighty because they had a "privilege" not usually granted to sisters in the congregation. I'm sure that gossip would spread among the new class of helpers, their being able to talk "confidentially" to others who are now in this "assistant to the judicial committee investigation" class.

Quite certainly, the publications will spin this as a "loving arrangement", to have sisters help out, there being no Biblical restrictions on such a thing as women assisting a judicial committee. But just like with the compilation of the elders manual, I'm sure there will be all sorts of legalistic minutia and prohibitions that will rein in the new "mature JW female" assistants.
