Roll call of those of us stuck in for our spouse or whos spouse is still in!

i just wanted to get a feel for how many here have awakened to ttatt but are still carrying on some jw activities to pacify them and keep the peace.

also trying to hear from those who have left, but whose spouse has stayed in the wt and in the marriage.. for me it comes down to my own mental anguish.

i am mentally tortured by attending the meetings, yet i feel compelled to because my wife would kill me with her personality if i had her drag 2 small girls by herself there.

My wife continues to be very loyal to the WTB&T$ although I've tried sharing TTATT with her several times.

These times when I push for some critical thinking usually result in big blowouts followed by make-up sessions that often involve strenuously involved and hot marital relations.

I wish the blowouts weren't part of the equation.

I love my wife and do not want to lose her to the WT.

I've gotten some feel good revenge by sending eye-opening TTATT web page links to elders, pioneers, publishers and especially those newly studiying whose email addresses I can get my hands on.

Of course I get an unassuming and theocratic user names like Pioneer2012@... .com or TheGoodNews4you@... .com etc. with one of the free email providers.

If you share a computer with your wife at home it's always good to have separate usernames and password them.

Keep at it, if you can help anyone else open their eyes to TTATT

then being stuck in but acting like an undercover TTATT agent to help others may bring you some satisfaction.

Fading, Stopping Meetings, DA or DF'ing, Thoughts on Getting the Hell Out Of There

so i read some threads about why someone remains a ministerial servant or elder, or why they are still active jw's.

others are telling stories about how they cut back slowly, and some of them got removed as ms/elder/pioneer or whatever.

yet others tell of how they just up and stopped going one day.

Once the invitation to appear before a judicial committee for apostasy was given me,

a PDF attached letter emailed to the three bros in the committee and the COBOE worked

very nicely so they don't bother me anymore. In other posts I've described what the letter

said and how I presented what future actions would follow as consequence of whatever

actions they sought against me.

My wife is still very loyal to the WTB&T$, so I also made sure that anything said to her without

my being present would be reason to involve higher ups in their hierarchy and my taking judicious

and stern action against them individually and as a body for slander.

My first reaction when reading CoC was shock and disbelief, but it settled in that I'd been wrong and had ignored so many warnings from family who aren't JWs and they'd been right all along about the "cultish" behavior of the WT religion.

What really did it for me was learning about the double standards, Malawi/Mexico, and the unnecessary suffering people in Malawi went through for following this Publishing Corporation as if it was God's Channel on Earth as they claimed.

Also the treatment of Ed Dunlap made the situation very personal. It exposed the lack of Christian love and fellow feeling among the Bethel bigshots and their blindly following hierarchy.

BBC Radio 4 reference to 607 Babylonian conquest?

was listening to bbc radio 4 late sunday night, and in a programme about migration, they referenced the "babylonian conquest of jerusalem in 607 b.c.

" which caught my attention.. did they not mean 587 b.c., or did i understand it wrong?.

I just sent in a complaint and requested a retraction and correction.

I also suggested that they may have a researcher who is biased and is promoting outdated and disproved chronological figures crafted by 19th century religionists to support their hopes of the world ending in the last century.

It would be best, I wrote, to present the view most currently held by scholars who are well researched in this field and give the date of 20 years later, that of 587 BCE.

Let's see what comes of it.

What is the exact meaning not posting in a language other than English in the Guidelines

in other words, can i use a loanword.

or a parochial phrase of an english based dialect.

or a short motto from another language along with a translation without being in violation.

I think you can write in another language without anyone minding if you include a translation.

Assembly Invitations: A Sad, Pathetic Anachronism

so, witlesses are handing out assembly invitations locally for their gatherings to invite the public to attend...... .

a meeting that's 50, 100, 150 miles away?

there was an era when placards were put in storefront windows and bombastic sermons were delivered by radio.

You said it "events they consider important". The proof is that there's just about no response from the public and nobody but loyal JW's consider the event "important".

Greenlees certainly did travel with body men (ASSistants).

He was well known for having a young and handsome bethelite "companion" with him wherever he went. Sometimes more than one.

At RC, Splane says 1000+ new KH's needed, last year only "60" new one's built.

so there are now regular, full time "construction servants" and their help is much needed along with regional rbc volunteers, who better get working because over a thousand kh's are needed and last year only sixty were built by the u.s. branch.

splane also said that just with the new baptized this weekend all over the u.s. we had one whone new circuit, so we better put more work into building needed kingdom halls..

In the New England (MA) area a little twitty CO by the name of Scotty Henry had instructions to merge as many local congregations as possible.

All around the District there were congregations that had split into two the last decade that were now being merged once again.

And those that were merged and asked to go to another KH were asked to help expand and renovate their new assigned Hall, and their old one sold, KH and land, the money from the sale didn't go to updating the old Hall that now had two merged congregations meeting inside, the money went to the KH building fund so that the old Hall could take out a loan from the Society, back when this happened about seven years ago we were still paying interest on loans from the Society.

It was quite a scam! And the scam continues.

Because there are so many KH's that had merged congregations that now the traveling overseers and the RBC'er bigshots are recommending building new KH's. One recent new KH in Leminster MA is the latest one in this new scam. Over in New Hampshire, near Concord, before the KH project was begun a letter was read to all neighbouring congregations in a two hour circuit to help donate towards the building materials. A congregation in Keene with about 60 publishers mostly retired folk, most in their late 60's 70's and 80's (two in their 90's) donated $30,000 toward the building materials. No accounting was ever sent back to the Keene congregation about what was done with all that money says the Secretary, but it was found out that another congregation also in NH had given $15,000, several other NH congregations smaller amounts, and one in Eastern Vermont $8,000 for the same purpose. What did the KH Building Fund put out???

When the time's up and the money needs to hit the table, the borganization reps of the RBC and the traveling overseers make sure that the local congos get fleeced even more so that Momma WT doesn't have to dish out any of its easily conned contributions.
