Tired of the truth... Tired of doubting
by Deltawave ini'm reaching out here, i've known ttatt for about 3-4 years now.
sadly when i first grasped it i had a total mental breakdown as i was a hard core firm to the core pioneer and 110% believer of my faith.!
now nearly 2years on after my breakdown i still have to attend to please my jw wife.

I'm in a very similar situation, went through the stages of grieving as I learned the TTATT. My wife is still very loyal to the WT, perhaps even more so as I drew away from taking an active part in meetings. I still go to Sunday talks, Assemblies and an occasional mid-week meeting, but I find it very hard to listen to the mind numbing nonsense, the only way I've found to manage is bring my kindle or the ipad and either search online or re-read portions of CoC and ISoCF by Ray Franz, and Jim Penton's superb JW history books, also other ex-jw books I can get on amazon.com
Keeping the peace at home is important to me. My wife is a kind and very compassionate person but the cult personality imposes the judgments and "corporate-ocratic" mindset of the WT religion. I've been in for 30 yrs. so mostly those I know and feel close to are either active JW's or ex-JW's. It's a tough situtation, but it's getting easier to deal with the one's still under the mind-control, as long as I steer the conversation towards non-JW topics.

Remember the leak that COs were going to be a thing of the past? (Fool me once.....)
Actually the leak was correct. The GB was looking into getting rid of DO's and CO's and discussing this with foreign Branches for input. They'd talked about using brothers from the specific circuit to visit local congregations as in a City Overseer arrangement. Part-time circuit overseers would report to the local Branches, help process appointments, give special talks, etc. all from his own home base and using his own transportation as visiting speakers do now.
The DO's have been let go but the CO's remain although the CO visits have been shortened and they've been given more responsibility for appointments.
The leak was just too soon during the process as they muddled their way through the "changes" that the JW's would need to go along with although not seeming logical from a "human" point of view. So... These changes were in the works, discussed with foreign Branch rep's but too raw when the leak went out.

I went down in the first Round!
by John Aquila inthere is a visitor brother in town and from what ive been told, he has been a missionary for many years and they were having a get together for him.
i took my mom to that get-together yesterday and stayed for a few minutes.
i heard a group around a table with the visitor brother talking about how hard it was getting in the world with so many distractions and that many of the brothers were falling into the trap and leaving jehovahs organization.

First time unwitnessing to a stranger
by C0ntr013r ini was sitting on a train, across from me was a middle-aged man reading: "knowledge that leads to everlasting life" .
it was in english which is not the native language here.
it was underlined so i figured he was either a foreign jw or a study.

Just the fact that you mustered the courage to speak up in a society where people don't have much to say to strangers is something that probably made a lasting memory on him.
During his next study he'll bring up the issue about the Deity of Christ most definitely, although like you said, it may leave him open to being led through the usual WT reasoning and step by step indoctrination. I guess it's up to him to think about what you shared, and how important his current belief is to him.
Hindsight being 20/20, it may have been easier to share a web address like jwfacts.com in the short time you had to chat, since I'm sure the Witnesses will want him to go to their JW.0rg (and having a place online to contrast the information he gets from the JW's is an excellent resource oppossers to the WT can use easily and effectively : - )

Why did you choose Jehovahs Witnesses?
by vinman ini'm wondering why ones on this forum initially became jw's.
if you were born in, why did you make it "your own"?
if you became one later, what was your draw and driving force?

I was about ten when my mother and grandmother studied the "Truth" book and I sat in on some studies when I'd rather be outside playing soccer.
As I grew older I fell for the lie that there was a spiritual paradise to be had if you associated with JWs and went to meetings. I sat on the fence for quite a while and even studied and made the meetings while going to college.
I got interested in a sister and she in me, but I'd have to be baptized and regular, reaching out, the whole works. So I got baptized and tried to be a good example of a good do-bee Witness. Once baptized we dated, with chaperons of course, and we got hitched some months later.
We celebrated our silver anniversary a couple of years back. But for a while I was wondering if we'd make it to our 25th anniversary due to my waking up and my wife hunkering down even more on being loyal to the WT.
If I was to say there was one thing that got me into the JW religion I'd say it was hormones, and I'd qualify that with WT's teachings and decrees that I put faith in and allowed to rule my body and mind--and my hormones.
