Why would you want a global network of people among many of whom you've acknowledged are possibly mentally suspect?

"i respect the jehovah's witnesses for fighting to keep the government from forcing them to violate their religious principles....... but to go from those rights to demanding that i pay for their more expensive medical treatments to satisfy their religious scruples is outrageous.
if they have special medical needs, let them turn to members of their faith community for financial support..... to demand that the government finance their religious preferences, while refusing to salute the flag of the government that will pay for them, is blatant hypocrisy.".

There is a tremendous sense of entitlement that comes with being a Witness. When you have The Truth, you never compromise for others but you expect others to compromise a hell of a lot for you. You don't realize it so much when you're in, but it's true.

The F&DS are still the "anointed", although now said "anointed" have no special insight or extra Holy Spirit and are possibly nuts. In other words, just like your average dub except for destination. Apparently that doesn't apply to the GB however.

DC 2011 Strange omission from the releases

revised vol 1 of young people ask.................hmmm lot of work in that one.

Wow, that first pic is the first WT drawing I've seen where Jesus could actually pass for "ethnic"/Middle Eastern/whatever (Looks a bit Hispanic to me actually. Hey-soos?) The second Christ looks positively Aryan, and I don't mean "Aryan" in the positive/original sense.

A convention without a new book release of some kind is not unheard of, but it used to be fairly rare.

Are more long standing JW's leaving?
by cantleave inat one time, it seemed that the majority of those leaving, were young ones brought up in the cult.. from what i can see now (at least on here), there seems to be a high number of 20+ baptised members years leaving.. has this always been the case?
it might be i just didn't notice from my parochial view from the kingdom hall!.
or are there really more long standing jw's leaving now, than ever before?.

But apparently it IS true that there was no "new release" as far as an actual book goes - just a revised YPA, a brochure, and the new DVD. By the way, if anybody has links to a rip of the new DVD, please post links or whatever falls within acceptable use here.

On the book release, according to a former Bethelite, a book was completed and ready to go to translation but was canceled at the last minute, possibly due to a GB split. No idea of the veracity of said claims. See "DC 2011 Strange Omissions" thread.
