  Apostates part from 2011 DC Symposium

  i just got through listening to the part on apostates.

  .

  they basically ignored any true questions or critisisms in favor of an ad hominem character attack on apostates.. they made the assertion that "apostates" are 1-prideful, 2-ingrateful, 3-impatient.. anyone that's listened care to discuss the part?.

  You know, I had no real reason to doubt prior posters who asserted that the "new light" was that since the toes are "not specifically numbered" (how many do they suppose there could be?) they have "no prophetic significance", but actually hearing it from the platform just makes the sad vacuity of it all that much more real...

  wow, it's hard to believe it's already been about a year since this subject was covered in the wt study at kindgom halls around the globe... let's read it just one more time, so we don't forget just how ridiculous this sounded when we first read it.... watchtower (study edition), april 15th, 2010 issue, pages 27-29:.

  "this magazine has long been used by the faithful and discreet slave as the primary channel for dispensing increased light.

  ... what does this explanation mean to us?

  Anyone here converted Buddhism?

  i would really like to talk to some ex-jws that have converted to buddhism, specifically sgi but any branch would be great.

  i converted in 1990 but was raised jw from birth.

  my father was an elder my mother a regular pioneer.

  It's been strongly suggested by some that the three wise men/Magi were Zoroastrians (i.e. Persians/Farsis), another religion I find eminently fascinating. They pop up quite a bit in the Bible, Darius and Cyrus being just two examples. I believe it was Cyrus who was referred to as "Jehovah's Anointed." Intriguing...

  there is a better way to see things clearly.

  because those men spoke in the past.. we can change our position because we are in their future!.

  apostacy is a changing of one's position.

  And then there's the problem with the WT's current truth claims hinging on prior truth claims. "God exists", "Jesus was his Son", and "The Bible is inspired" are acknowledged by many, if not most, Christians to be matters of faith rather than fact and are therefore not falsifiable. A misleading statement regarding what Pastor Russell and/or the Bible Students taught regarding 1914 is a much more tangible indictment.
