  then in 1878 till 1918 there was a work of preparing the way before jehovah's coming to the temple through his official representative christ jesus.

  (malachi 3:1)such work was done to prepare before the lord a "people for his name" that such ones should be witnesses to his name and kingdom.

  Maybe, Flipper, but Russell, Rutherford, Franz, et al, were at least fascinating (like the train wreck you can't tear your eyes off) compared to the current crop of zombies. I mean, David friggin' Splane? No intelligence, charisma, nothing. Not even Jaracz-esque disproportionate-fear-of-God compelling. So sad...

  What's saddest about the current WT leadership is that it actually makes the Russell/Rutherford era seem appealing.

  Better to be bat-shit crazy and at least INTERESTING than bat-shit crazy and just absolutely boring as hell.

  so my husband rarely talks to his sister and never talks to his mom.

  his sister, brother in law and mom will have nothing to do with me because 10 years ago when i left the jws they heard rummors (gossip) that i was apostate.. husband is totally apostate too by their standards but they ignore what they don't want to see.

  he celebrates all the holidays, goes to church, celebrates birthdays and bad mouths the wts all the time.. well sister in law calls this morning and he is on the phone with her for one hour.

  It sucks to be a gentle, loving, sensitive guy who domineering women love you for it but then turn around and constantly chew your ass for "not taking a stand".

  You know, sometimes the best stand you can take with manipulative people is not to take a stand at all. Is a man spineless for trying to see things from everyone's point of view?

  my husband was talking to his sister on the phone today, breaking the news to her and one thing she kept bringing up was that god has to have an organization on earth.

  If the Almighty God of the universe had ONE and ONLY ONE true organization on earth with his full backing and support, I don't think it would be completely and utterly helpless in the face of even the simplest challenges to the faith of its adherents from former members. Unless Satan is FAR more powerful than God, which, by definition, he cannot be.

  Want to figure out the difference between new light, apostasy, and truth? Use this simple WT formula:

  Step 1: New Light arrives. Current New Light is now truth. Previous (obsolete) New Light is now apostasy (though it wasn't while we were teaching it). Future New Light (i.e. running ahead of Jehovah's chariot) is not yet Current New Light and therefore apostasy.

  Step 2: Future New Light becomes Current New Light, replacing current Current New Light, which is now obsolete (apostasy).

  Step 3: Previous New Light (apostasy) becomes Future New Light (still apostasy until becoming Current New Light).

  Step 4: Repeat from Step 1 until brain implodes.
