And if they claim that the Governing Body et. al. is not directly inspired by God (Feb. 7, 2001 letter re: admission by GB), how can they in turn elevate their literature to be on par with the Bible, and sometimes officially declare their books and tracts as superior to the Bible?

And that's the rub, Mr. Dough...how can they claim that ALL of their teachings are 'spirit directed' when they contradict themselves so often? Was the teaching that organ transplants were cannibalism spirit directed or was the offhand change to a 'conscience matter' spirit directed? Makes no sense, but let's slam the piss out of other religions, shall we?

The JW's love to feel superior.

Ain't that the truth...it's kind of what it's all about. How else can it all work? I mean, you have the constant drilling into the poor brains of the adherents that the 'world's' education is inferior to anything they learn at the KH and manage to create a group of people who feel like they're better than anyone else by sheer virtue of having read every Awake article they can get their hands on. Sad really.

in the article there's the sub-headings, "judging by appearance" and "appearances can be deceptive".

News Item!! The Biblical NT story has been PROVEN to be a hoax!!

ok i lied; there's no such news item.

however, imagine for a minute that it was indeed fact and that the evidence was irrefutable that the new testiment account in the bible was proven to be a hoax started by the early constantine government and perpetuated by the church over the centuries.

now, if you are of the atheist persuation it seems plausable that your reaction would be something similar to "i told you so" and that life would go on pretty much as usual.
