  The WT has always been obsessed with what people wear. This is because it's a religion that is only interested and concerned in outward appearance. Same applies for the whole ministerial servant thing and all of the rules around submitting a monthly report, facial hair, tattoos, piercings, hair color, suit vs sport jacket, skirt length, hair length, chaperones, makeup, cleavage, jewellery, hair gel, colored shirts (and now socks), yadda yadda yadda. Appearances are everything.

  WTS is a tiny, insignificant, eccentric cult

  Coming to this realization was a painful process. You go through life as a JW thinking that you're part of something huge and extremely important only to realize that nobody who isn't or wasn't a JW doesn't give a rat's ass about JW's. It's quite jarring!

  I had a good laugh when I was poking through IMDB.com (a comprehensive movie/tv database) and stumbled across a religion, faith, spirituality message board. There are a couple of JW's who hang out there and get into debates with other posters. It's pretty hilarious and you just know they're counting their time.
