I love the hypocrisy...slamming other religions for not adhering to the bible.
by poopsiecakes inthis is from the january 2012 wt (members edition).
to this day, many of the clergy elevate the uninspired sayings of so-called church fathers to a plane higher than the word of god!
if you have ever discussed the trinity doctrine with a seminarian, you have likely noticed that.. .

It's nice that all these awesome ladies are commenting on my thread.
I just can't believe how I swallowed this line of BS for so long and yet made fun of kids who believed in Santa behind their backs....sigh....how is that weirder than believing that God wants me to only wear skirts to the meeting? And I was an adult!!! (although to be honest, I always thought that was silly but never dreamed of breaking the rule)

News Item!! The Biblical NT story has been PROVEN to be a hoax!!
by Jack C. inok i lied; there's no such news item.
however, imagine for a minute that it was indeed fact and that the evidence was irrefutable that the new testiment account in the bible was proven to be a hoax started by the early constantine government and perpetuated by the church over the centuries.
now, if you are of the atheist persuation it seems plausable that your reaction would be something similar to "i told you so" and that life would go on pretty much as usual.

XJW4EVR...you mean to tell me you were serious??
And you expect a response to your request to produce the dead body of a man who may or may not have lived over 2000 years ago?
And you want meaningful and reflective responses to this request?

Well, the pdf of the March 2012 WT is hot off the press!
by serenitynow! inand it does not disappoint.
the first century brothers are on the cover, going door to door with what look like leather messenger bags.. the first article is entitled, are all "christians" christian.
and you can tell by the picture that anyone with a beard or goatee is definitely not a real christian.. the next article, remain in my word has this quote that condemns catholics but seems eerily close to what jws believe:.

Another thing about that Chairman's comment - I remember a CO or DO or something like that saying from the platform words to the effect that 'everyone says we're so organized, everyone's impressed with how organized we are and that's nice to hear but it's really more that we're obedient. If you walk around a KH building site, it's not really that organized but nobody questions the instructions they're given. If a brother says to a group of people to move this pile of bricks over there, nobody asks why, they just do it. So it's not that we're organized, it's that we're obedient.' Jeez...I shoulda known then and there to just grab my purse and hightail it outta there.

A Question About Genesis 5:1-3
by Voices ini have a couple of questions about this scripture.. .
1)why wasn't cain mentioned as his first son?
i can't justify 'because he was evil' or some other irrelavent reason.

Why even comment on this thread if that's what you believe?
ummmmm why make a comment to me and not attempt to answer the question in the OP? At least I did that, in my own way.

They cite some "experience" about helping people during 2004 hurricanes.
What the 'experience' fails to mention is that their charity only extends to their own members. And also that this Chairman is probably affiliated with the JW's somehow - if not a member himself, he probably has a relative who's a member, that's usually the way it goes...

omg there's an article about judging first impressions...for a religion that's ALL about the APPEARANCE of their members, this is too hilarious.
Pg. 11:
"When we meet someone for the first time, we tend to formulate opinions about the person in light of our past experience. We are prone to generalize and to judge him on the basis of stereotypes. In addition to physical appearance,we may evaluate or judge the person because of his nationality, ethnicity, social standing, or religion.
If the opinion we formed of that person turns out to be correct, we congratulate ourselves on our good judgment, and our belief that we can trust our first impressions is reinforced. However, when we realize that we had come to a completely wrong conclusion, how do we react? If we are honest, we should let go of our preconceived opinion and look for the facts. Otherwise, we might be doing others a great disservice or even serious wrong, all because of our pride in exercising what we consider to be our superior sense of judgment."ACK!! So are they saying that if a man has a beard or a woman wears trousers to the KH that they shouldn't be judged??
