They seem like a lovely couple and the emotion of it all comes through in a way that is very tangible. Usually this programme is a bit of fluff with a hapless groom with off the wall ideas putting together a wedding of some description. In this case there is a little more to it. What actually was noticable was that the bride goes to a friends house for the three week period. Usually the bride goes to live with her parents. Lets hope their married life is the start of a new positive time in their lives.

Lets Insult Christmas Public WT Now Up on jw.org
by LostGeneration inmight need a vomit bag as your read through this one..... http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/.
one gem on page six where we have "helping the needy" as the headline - i wonder which "organization" they might be referring to?.
could you set aside, or budget, some money.

An appalling magazine as usual. I dislike the way they are targeting the young over the issue of a parent leaving the organisation and the way they present the witnesses as people who give all year round. The good news is that as ex jws we probably read more of the magazines than the JWs do so the majority of witnesses will look at the title page and chapter headings and leave it at that.

I am so saddened he was one of the bright lights I looked for and to know the depth of his pain is so upsetting. We all hope for a brighter happier life on the other side, he was a person who helped me find mine so his loss is great indeed.

1918: >>> Less than 4 publishers per congregation !!! <<<
by Calebs Airplane inwhen jesus supposedly came down to the earth in 1918 to accomplish his inspection of all religious denominations, he supposedly chose the watchtower bible & tract society.. according to the august 15, 2012 watchtower (page 6, paragraph 12), in 1914, there were only 1,200 congregations worldwide..... this means that jesus was really looking for a needle in a hay stack... (probably had to use a pair of tweezers in the process...).
but notice this gem i found in the watchtower cd library:.
in 1918 there were only 3,868 persons announcing the king and the kingdom in all the world.

It wasn't until much later that witnesses were told to advertise, advertise, advertise so in 1918 there was no obligation for everyone to preach the word.

It is good to know that all Steve's work has had such a positive result. This is such an important issue and it is essential that children who are taught to trust the religious leadership absolutely are protected from being abused bu them.
This also highlights that this is not an isolated case but a deep rooted problem within the organisation and although it has had a lot of exposure in Australia and the US it is not isolate to these locations.

Apologies brain not in gear.
A recent conversation between my Mum and JW sister have got me thinking. My sister and BIL have been extremely aggressive since my mum has been discharged from hospital and as a result they have been banned from the family home. After a vain attempt to force their way into the house they have reported my father and younger sister to the police for domestic violence and to social services. their main concern is not my mother;s health but the fact that my father will not read her the Watchtower or let her have her meeting tapes. She has neither asked for them or given any indication she actually wants them. On a recent telephone call my sister referred to the new law and told my mother that if she wanted to see someone Dad couldn't prevent her. That the law would be on her side. The irony is my mum has to be forced to call my sister and does it to stop futher harrassment from her and she dislikes her visiting. Their arrogant and unrepentant attitude have led to this rift but they refuse to apologise.
Now this got me thinking, under the new law isn't shunning Domestic violence. If I want to see a relative and another relative prevents me then that is emotional violence and covered under the new law. If the relatives put pressure on one another to conform to shunning would that be covered? I wonder if anyone will actually take the step of prosecuting JW relatives who practice bullying under the excuse of religion.

we slowly binned the lot. But it took years to track down magazines that had fallen down the back of chairs and under the beds.
That literature gets everywhere.
