When You Were a Visitor at a KH, Did Anyone Come Up and Say Hi?
by LoisLane looking for Superman ini am kind of like a puppy dog, in the aspect of liking to meet new people.
they hold out a "wonderment" to me.
new thought.

We have visited a few meetings when on holiday and have noticed varying responses.
If my husband was the visiting speaker and on his own he was more likely to be invited back for a cup of tea or welcomed at the meeting. If he came with wife and kids we were never invited back and very little welcoming.
We visited a congregation in the midlands and were welcomed warmly. We visited a congregation in Cornwall and were not welcomed by anyone.
It does vary from place to place although a muted greeting was always more likely than an effusive one.

The society have perfected the art of less is more. Less hours means more Aux pioneers, means they can show an increase and say look how Jehovah is speeding it up in his own time.

my worst fears were realized
by magotan inim on my phone, so im really limited.
i came out to my family about my doubts and my sexuality.
shit hit the fan.

Don't be made to feel guilty about the choices other people make. If your dad is stepping down as an elder that is his choice. Sexuality is not a choice nor can it be pushed aside by reading a few articles, praying a bit more and going to meetings. Your family has behaved according to cult programming, that is denial of anything that does not fit with their paradigm.
You have faced your fears Kudos to you. We all hope that our family will be different sadly in the early days they can be all too predictable. Start surrounding yourself with true friends and people who love and accept you for who you are not what you believe. Time changes things for us all.

Do you believe that God is using the faithful and discreet slave
by trujw init seems that this question is used by elder to trap us and close their minds(the jw elder) to thinking.
if you answer no they wrap up a jc in short order.
i was wondering if any have tried to use a more pointed question to actually get them to think themselves.

Turn it back on them.
Why are you asking me this question it sounds like you have doubts? I think you should work on your own relationship with Jehovah before seeking clarity from me.

New Pope will be named Peter
by Monsieur ini remember reading somewhere in regards to a a 'prophet' of sorts who had predicted all the popes that have been chosen.. his 'prophecy' stated that the next pope (since benedict has resigned) would be the last before the 'end' would come.
his name would be pope peter.. let's see what happens.
we are suppose to know who the next pope will be before easter..

How many end of the worlds have I lived through in the last few years. What with Harold Camping and the Mayans, the JWs the Hale Bop comet and god knows what else I have lost faith in the end of the world. I heard years ago that the last pope would be a pope John. The end of the world is getting old now I sincerely hope someone comes up with something new to predict.

Who have you lost?
by Strawberryfieldsforever ini was just thinking the other day how small our family is now that we aren't jw's.
we are thankful that we at least have our children!
my husband lost his mom and dad and only sister and her husband and all their children.

I lost my older sister and my niece and nephew. I also have an on off relationship with my mother depending on what rubbish the watchtower has printed this week.
I have gained a better relationship with my Father and my sister in the US who was never a witness. I have increased my circle of affection to include non conditional friends. I have also gained a happier relationship with my own children. I have gained more than I lost since for years I had lost a real connection with some family members and didn't even realise it.

My guardian angel would probably have fallen asleep from boredom. There are seriously few spicy bits in my life to keep it interested. I hope he has a good book to read when I'm walking the dog and doing the ironing.
