I wonder how long it will be before witnesses walk the streets with placards again and don't bother to talk to anyone.

I think it is possible I may have been but since I did not attend their JC and didn't speak to them or read their mail I do not know for sure. I don't need a bunch of idiots to define what or who I am, after all I am awesome.

long time lurker (3-4 years) first time poster
by Patient-dude inhey i have come to love some of the discussions on here and the information.
i am currently awake and have no plans to fade, in my case i am patient enough to in time become an elder to at least help the younger friends here in my area, in the sense of helping them wake up/if elder have their back..

Welcome. I would say if you plan to fade then taking on any position of oversight will make this harder. Even if you are well intentioned you will have very little influence in a body of elders. I would suggest that you are better focusing on your family and yourself initially and get out with minimal emotional pain and trauma.

Topics Witnesses Should Seriously Think About
by Darth Rutherford inthe bible teaches that jesus is the one mediator between god and all mankind [anthropon], but the organization teaches us that jesus christ, is not the mediator between jehovah god and all mankind.
(the watchtower, 9/15/1993, p.22) the bible teaches that salvation is through jesus not an earthly organization under heaven.
the organization matches jesus description.

Good questions. Mst witnesses do not realise that Jeasus is not their mediator they do not keep pace with the changes themselves.

by AndersonsInfo inyesterday, a jwn poster e-mailed me asking if i would post on this discussion board his recent email to steven unthank and also post stevens reply.
the reason for the request is because the poster has need to remain completely anonymous.

What a waste of the societies resources to pursue this vendetta against those that stand up to them. I am so sorry for what Steven Unthank and his family has had to endure and I am horrified by the petty minded approach of a religion that claims to speak for God. I think that they have reached the point when they can no longer disgust me and then I read a post such as this one and I realise that they still have the capacity to shame themselves further. I sincerely hope that thet pay financially for every one of these acts of petty revenge.

The purpose of disfellowshipping is to bully you into conforming. They want you to feel bad, humilated and depressed and they bank on holding your family hostage so that you return feeling contrite. Take time to think about what you really want and see this as an opportunity to re-evaluate your life and educate yourself about this organisation. Take a breather from the meetings and give your family some space too. You need to recover emotionally from the trauma and facing the humilation and ostracism will cause you to feel depressed and anxious.
You are not a bad person, and you know from your own experience that there are loving, supportive people who are not witnesses who can help you. You describe your boyfriend as a loving and good man and hopefully he can help you through this. You can make contact with people who were friends in the past. People are in general more forgiving and accepting than we give them credit for.
Disfellowshipping gives you a unique opportunity to think for yourself. It is not a bad thing it is a chance to breathe and establish what direction you plan to follow and take control of your life probably for the first time.

I have 3 daughters who hate me and 2 grandchilden banned from seeing me. Having a sh*t day now.
by Amelia Ashton inmy youngest who i haven't seen for 6 months came to collect the rest of her stuff from the flat today.. she was cold and indifferent towards me until the dog went for her because she no longer knows her and then she blamed me for everything that has happened.. having trouble keeping it together now..

Amelia this is not all down to you. Your daughter made her own choices and made her own mistakes , it is the nature of the young to blame everyone but themselves and sometimes it is in our nature to take responsibility for everything when it is unfair to do so.
You have cruel family dynamics that have lowered your self esteem and made you feel that you are to blame for all that is wrong. You have been bullied by those who should have loved and protected you from harm but you are not the person they want you to be. You are a dynamic and thoughtful woman who feels pain more deeply than most. You are one of lifes survivors and deserve compassion and support.
Do not let the out pourings of a teenager define how you see yourself. She is feeling hard done by but that does not give her the right to make you the villan of the piece. Everyone has made mistakes not just you.
Remember we love you and appreciate you as a person. This is not all your fault I'm happy to come over if you feel the need for comapany.

When You Were a Visitor at a KH, Did Anyone Come Up and Say Hi?
by LoisLane looking for Superman ini am kind of like a puppy dog, in the aspect of liking to meet new people.
they hold out a "wonderment" to me.
new thought.

We have visited a few meetings when on holiday and have noticed varying responses.
If my husband was the visiting speaker and on his own he was more likely to be invited back for a cup of tea or welcomed at the meeting. If he came with wife and kids we were never invited back and very little welcoming.
We visited a congregation in the midlands and were welcomed warmly. We visited a congregation in Cornwall and were not welcomed by anyone.
It does vary from place to place although a muted greeting was always more likely than an effusive one.

The society have perfected the art of less is more. Less hours means more Aux pioneers, means they can show an increase and say look how Jehovah is speeding it up in his own time.
