Not just elders but any self righteous witness on a witch hunt can stalk you here or on Facebook. With this in mind think about what you post if you don't want the elders to turn up at your home with printouts of your posts.
It happened to us. Now I see the funny side back then I was more irritated than fearful.

i was knocked into a deep, deep sleep by the imagined experience of being at several thousand consecutive kingdom halls as the platformed drones spat forth the predictable sludge that, once released, hits and stains white clothing and bleach is useless.. we know that memorial attendance worldwide has dipped for two consecutive years since 2011 when it reached a high of 19,374,737 and for the promised land, obama's usa, the all time memorial attendance high was also 2011 when it hit over 2.5million (2,563,518) but shrunk in shame back to 2,502,055 in 2012 and spluttered upwards a handful or two to 2,504,114 last year.. so, what was attendance at the date-obsessed bore-fest this year in your neck of the woods?
Since the number of casual lies told by the society are so many I seriously doubt that there has been an accurate memorial figure published for years and this year will be no different.
do members of the congregation usually have a meal together after the memorial?
does the fact that my wife has decided not to travel across town to her filipino congregation and is going to the local one instead and wants to be picked up when it finishes at 8 pm mean that she hasn't been invited to a meal with her filipino congregation and that she is being socially excluded by them?
i think this is good news but i don't want her to get caught up with the local congregatin because i don't want them coming around to pressure her to attend when she is irregular.
It is probably a cultural thing. I was a witness for 40 years plus and was never invited anywhere after a memorial. Everyone went home, we weren't encouraged to socialise as there was often another congregation coming into the hall after us.
Never do not even my mum invites me or asks if I am going.
I get so few it is no burden to reply.

congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.
I think that time has changed the Watchtower a great deal, what we once did not believe was possible has proven to be business a usual. this organisation has changed radically since I was baptised and will continue to do so. The rumours of today are possibly closer to the truth than we could imagine.

If families are supposed to sit down with an elder to go over tax returns there may be things they spend money on that the society would prefer that they didn't. Cable TV, magazine subscriptions, professional memberships, gym memberships, pensions, etc. Families could be encouraged to transfer these funds to their pledged amount.
The society can no longer state that they do not beg for money or solicit donations since that is exactly what they are doing.
i'm not suicidal just fed up.. i did think of suicide (briefly), but as there is no painless way and it's not something i would willingly do just in case things would have been better the day after.
i do have a slight grain of hope.. money problems.....problems at home (that's another matter with a son up court for something he is adamant he didn't do.

Life can sometimes seem more of an endurance than a gift. However your son needs you to be there for him, you are stressed by the whole thing but I am sure he is stressed too. Sometimes police get it wrong. I have sat on a jury where the evidence against the defendant was so thin it was hard to see why the case had ever come to court. He was found not guilty because the evidence to convict just wasn't there. Just because your son has been charged it does not also follow he will be convicted. That being said it is a horrible thing to face and there is the inevitable worry.
You do have a great girlfriend and a positive future 56 is not decrepit. Yes you did give up far too much time to a cult but you are not alone in that. Get out in the fresh air and get some energy back in you there is so much more to accomplish and you have less time to cram it all in than before don't let your talent go to waste.

I felt so sad reading the post on JW survey the congregation will permanently be in debt to the society. Everyone pays. The rich congrgations give money to the society so they can build halls for poor congregations who are in debt to the society forever for the new hall. So for one hall the society is paid multiple rents.
Call it what it is exploitation and rent paid to a company that did not pay for the original hall, did not build it, did not maintain it or pay the bills on it.
I sincerely hope this does wake up some when they realise that it is all about the money.
