How sad she seemed much loved. How many people have to suffer pointless loss before Brooklyn rethinks it's view. I suppose we will have to wait for a member of the GB to be in a similar position before they change their minds. My heart goes out to the family suffering needlessly.

WTS claims to shine as brightly as the Sun
by cattails injust saw this pop up at the fuentes' forum extjforum.com.
http://www.extjforo.com/foro/showthread.php?t=15473 .
it's a scan (you can thank iloowy for the scan) of the march 15, 2010 watchtower where there's a picture of a radiant sun of a wt logo along with a tm mark right next to a paragraph that says 'they "will shine as brightly as the sun"' (matthew 13:43).. .

In our copy we don't have a logo we have a picture of wheat being harvested. Perhaps when it went to print the logo was changed for a picture. Perhaps the artwork wasn't available at the time of the PDF. Also with the PDF they don't use copywrited photos or artwork so use the symbol to fill the gap. It doesn't mean anything significant in the same way ipsum dipsum pilori is used to fill text before final copy.

Pre-busted
by Heartbreaker ini mean, i can only imagine that's what i am.
i read a post here on my phone, and wish could remember who it was, to give credit, but i can not.
it was about the slow fade or some such, and the merits to just getting out, or doing it slowly.

As far as your daughter is concerned she has already made the mental break from from JW religon. she did the most natural thing in the world she showed others the kindness that had affected her deeply without filtering it through what is acceptable to JWs.
Perhaps it is time to follow her lead and embrace the change. If you don't want to be officially Df'd then the strongly worded legal letter is your best defence. This allows you to associate with JW relatives without the stigma of a DF and can be used if Elders want to speak to you about your tree in an official capacity. If they approach you state that this is not something you are prepared to discuss and hand them the letter.
A DA makes a clean break but may cause problems with relatives who are still in. In addition it may be a problem if your daughter sees any problems as being her fault.
Enjoy the season and be prepared then you don't have to give JWs a second thought.

Pink Floyd - Your Favorite Songs from Them ? U-tubes welcome !
by flipper inpink floyd in my opinion really kind of fused orchestration with electric guitars in a heavy progressive way which blazed the trail for progressive groups i feel.
here are my all time favs from pink floyd and mr .
gilmour and watters.. 1. comfortably numb.

I love Pink floyd, so strong musically with lyrics that are really meaningful. The final cut is a bit torturous but that is Roger Waters at his introverted best.
My favourite is Shine on you Crazy Diamond. followed by Comfortably Numb.
Also Dark side of the Moon is truly awesome and I love Gret Gig in the sky.

Attending my mum's JW wedding
by iMARX inso i have to go to my mum's jw wedding in 2 weeks.
it's not in a kh but there's still going to be about 40 jws there.
apparently it's "widely-known" that i'm gay and some jws have even told my mum that it's not wise to invite me because it will make other people (jws) feel uncomfortable.
-

What ever other people have said about your attendance your mum wants you to be there and was initially happy to bann all JWs to make you feel comfortable. This is your Mums special day so be there for her. At most weddings you are not expected to know everyone and although many people are there you tend to stick with a small group anyway. Your Mum has asked your partner to come and your brother so there will be friendly faces there.
I would be approachable and friendly. I think the advice not to be overtly passionate is slightly insulting. I doubt you would behave that way in any case. Enjoy yourself, be yourself. You are there for your Mum, brother and Partner who may find the whole experience slightly bizarre and will need a guiding hand herself.
Enjoy the day the others are just window dressing.

Horseshoes - baaaad
by iMARX inhey did anyone ever not buy items or clothes with horseshoes on because they're a symbol of luck and jws don't believe in luck?.
hahaha i totally remember my mum seeing lovely greetings cards but as soon as she saw a horse shoe on it she would put it straight back on the shelf.
the same with necklaces and bracelets.

In Uk the tradition exists that if a horseshoe is hung above a door it brings good luck. The shoe has to be hung this way U to keep the good luck inside. If the horseshoe is hung the other way up n then the good luck falls out.
As you can see the evilnous of horseshoes knows no bounds.
Bells, horseshoes, confetti, churches etc the list is endless.

Your wife is still in the Homer Simpson "It's still good faze"
She sees the scandal, but it's still good.
There will be a time when the pig disappears over the hill and into the river when she will have to admit that it is not still good. She's part the way there already.
Welcome to the forum.

2010 Examining the scriptures daily
by bobld inforeword: "secular education is shortsighted.true a good education is a basic need,it can be the difference between deing able to provide for your family or not.benefits of secular education is limited.education cannot guarantee life" just some wise council for the gb/fds of the wbts.. "there is a type of education that can benefit us eternally.
(study god's word and the wbts, wt/a, publications) will guarantee life (bs).divine education helps us to pursue what is good and avoid what is bad.
" i know many good educated people who do good and avoid bad.also i know many who lack a good education who do good things and do bad things.education has nothing to do with being good or bad(look out santa clus knows).

The benefits of limiting education opportunities is that you make people less likely to question dictates or information provided by the organisation. Secular eduction teaches you to question what you are told, talks about the importance of context and shows you how to do research. If more people were so armed then the cracks would show.
It is sad. By limiting education you limit opportunities and leave the congregation as the only outlet for ambition.
This is the way it works and has worked for decades.

What was your favorite Beatles song that you remember ?
by thetrueone infor myself growing up in the 60's it was mostly the beatles that drew my attention as well as many others.. as for the entire body of work by them, there might never be another four piece musical group like them.. sad to think that the younger generation today only has thug rap/hip hop trash or britney spears to listen to.. the quality of music may have diminished itself when it started to become more of a visual expression of art rather than .
purely audio form of entertainment.. just one of my favorites out of many.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfrk4ca0dlg&feature=related.

Helter Skelter - I love the energy of the song. While my Guitar gently weeps is a beautiful song that reminds me of what a great loss Georgw Harrison was. I also love Glass Onion - always reminds of a school field trip to Bath where I go got drunk for rhe fisrt time.
The Beatles were truly the such an influence in my Teenage years although I was 20 years too late to see them.
