after knowing what i now know about the wt and the gb.
now that i can see the real spirit behind this organization, now that i have convinced my self that i dont need this religion or any other organized group to have a personal relationship with god and his son... i wonder, whats next?
should i stay as part of the conscious class, a less committed jw for the sake of my marriage and emotional stability?
No one can tell you for certain as everyone's circumstances are different. I appreciate the dilema it is the same as my own. I find the meetings a problem since once you are alert to control it is hard to be a passive observer.

Again what should have been a heartwarming article was used to spread misery. I find it sad that this emphasis on loyalty to the society is relentless. No opportunity is wasted to hammer the message home and I read fear behind those words. They are closing the fist in an attempt to prevent people exploring the internet and finding out their shameful past. The harder they try to keep people in through fear, the more will slip through.

I am not bitter but I am grieved. I don't think I have left God behind, rather I think I am closer to finding a loving God and appreciating the good in others in a way I never could within the organisation. I am sad for all the lovely people I know who are still held captive to a lie.
notknowing inspired me on having a new thread for my idea.. except for this explanatory paragraph, i will refrain from using the letter "t" in this thread.
i insist that you all do the same.. i mean, there's already a "t" in my name so that cannot be helped, but many insist that the cross was a pagan symbol.
heck, the "t" is just a simple letter, can the romans really help that someone decided to use the "t" in their pagan worship?
some symbols are very useful and appear more regularly in words. Avoiding such symbols merely for religious reasons is pompous. We make a rod for our own back and are mindless fools following a group who has no concern for our wellbeing.

I saw one of the adds on TV for payday loans the small print had the APR as over 2000%. Seriously I couldn't believe it. You'd have to be totally mad to go for something like that but people do.

Leaving is a good thing not a bad thing. Leaving does not make you evil. You are having to adjust to a new situation which can be a lonely process any here would be happy to talk to you. After all most share similar experiences.
open mind recently posted the thread "honesty-in-field-service-reports" in relation to the borg requesting that all brothers & sisters report their time honestly.. well, a dub friend of mine recently told me the following story.
i'd also like to add that the co has also added the following story in his talks as the bit of humour all co's are required to do in order to make sure that the audience is still awake.. here goes........ a sister had a dream that she had a great day out on the ministry.
it was so good, that she worked out how long she was asleep (8 hours) and added the 8 hours to her monthly report.. now, some of you may think that's funny?
Had I known it was that easy I'd have pioneered every month.

maybe this is a stupid question, since jw's don't celebrate christmas, but, as jw's, how did you spend your christmas?
what did you feel when everyone else was celebrating?
I worked most Christmases until I was a Mum then spent Christmas day at home. We did baking and watched telly. We ate what was in the house. We sometimes went out for a walk in the country as it was relatively quiet out and about.
I still enjoyed the peace and quiet but when I had my own children I felt for them as I knew what they were missing out on. I have always taken to heart the idea of giving them gifts frequently but christmas is fun and magical. Everyone should try it at least once.
