Hello to all. Maybe this is a stupid question, since JW's don't celebrate Christmas, but, as JW's, how did you spend your Christmas? What did you feel when everyone else was celebrating? Thanks for your answers.

It's a very quiet boring day. As a child I used to stare out my window at the lights across the street.

    Boring is right!

Everything on TV is Christmas = PAGAN

Restuarants are either closed or serving Christmas dinners.

    Stores are closed.

If we went out in service, OMG - I hated knocking on doors on Christmas morning. People would answer the door all happy and then get annoyed that they were disturbed by JWs on CHRISTMAS DAY!!

As an adult, I tried to go away with witness friends. Skiing was a good way to spend the day. Not too many people on the slopes on Christmas.

As a born in, I never had it, never missed it.

It was just the 25th of December. Not much different to the 23rd, 24th, 26th or any other day.

We did morning FS seeking those who weren't at some religious service when I wasn't at my worldly dad's.

When I was at my dad's I was a typical loyal JW killjoy........ like many born-ins I was fond of pointing out that Santa wasn't real and if you rearrange the letters it spelled Satan...... and attended the Episcopal Church.

The rest of the day regardless of which parent I was with ......we went to a grandparent's home; ate, watched VHS or BetaMax videos and played Atari (later Nintendo).

I had a different situation...my mother was a jw, but my father was not. So we went and visited my dad's friends, saw their tree, heard xmas music, watched xmas shows on tv, had a nice dinner with them. They even had a present for me and my siblings. No church though, my dad wasn't into that.

They just complain about those who celebrate Christmas while hoping for a nice Christmas bonus at work.

Yes sacolton I agree - how two faced. My hubby came home from work yesterday with bottles of wine and whiskey and a£100 bonus. I asked him why he thought it ok to accept Christmas gifts when we couldnt celebrate Christmas. He said they werent Christmas gifts, but end of year gifts. Yeah well me and my kids are opening some 'end of year gifts' tomorrow as it happens!

In this area there are quite a few Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and people who do not celebrate Xmas because they are atheists or agnostics.

So these bonuses are not called "Christmas" bonuses and are given in November or January rather than offend them. I don't get a bonus...I work for a business that is limited by law from doing so.

I used to go see a movie every Christmas. I felt guilty that the staff had to work on Christmas, but I was also glad that I had entertainment for the day
