Are they serious? Nothing they said is wrong it is the fact that they say it that is the irony. WTBTS is so fond of the word generally it is beyond a joke.

as the oldest members die off in 2010 it's going to be very hard to find qualified men from the anionted who are capable of joining the governing body.
most are just too old, so the new trend is younger members.
in 10 years i can imagine the governing body members looking like a young boy band, eating pizza at their meetings and saying things like "dude, like what's up with this blood doctrine?
They all look far too young already. The cycle seems to be non anointed joint GB in an advisory capacity then surprise surprise those people discover they have heavenly hope they are anointed. They slip in under the radar. Yes before long they will be younger then me. I already feel sorry for some of the older r&f they have no idea how old the GB members are. One elder friends was surprised when he discovered that a GB member was of a similar age you could see the panic.
i heard one elder say after everyone tried to sing one of their jacked up songs they have now, he said wow now that is a twisted rendition.. ( think there are a lot of people getting fed up with this direction of worshiping the governing body ) .
If someone is having private doubts the song book will help to ram them home. The old words are still buzzing round peoples heads so the new words tend to stand out more. I became a witness to worship God not a book publishing company. Does God even get a look in?

i feel compelled out of gratitude and love to write this little tale, not because i have lost my faith, but because i realize i am not alone, and as heb 10: 24, 25 states: and let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, 25 not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near.. i have never felt nor would i ever think that that scripture applied solely to meeting atendance.
the form of true christian love displayed by many here on this board affirms my faith in jehovah and lets me know i am not alone!.
It is always difficult to discover that the organisation is flawed and that it is in the end a book publishing company. After all Penguin books does not tell me how to live my life and is happy for me to read material from other publishing houses.
You did what the Bible tells you to do and you looked into what you were taught. You can do no more. Your wife is going through shock and fear. I went through the same thing when my husband confessed he was having doubts. He was an elder at the time and I was in full panic mode for a while. It may pass I know it did with me. If her family is in the organisation she may be fearing the worst.

Wasn't there a plot to discredit Mephibosheth which resulted in David taking half his property away from him and sharing it with his false accuser? He was not treated fairly or given the same respect as the kings own sons. He was there to appease David's conscience.

Mad bad world. So stupid I always thought that emergency situations were treated differently, apparently not. The brother is a hero the body of elders escapees from the muppets.
not sure if i ever shared this...but have seen several "sharing" threads here lately and it motivated me..... when i met with the co and po about some doubts and an important question....and when i got the co's answer.....i could not speak....i put my head down and just started crying...not sobbing cause i fought it back...finally the only words to come out were..."i am going to have to leave my wife and son"....and they were like wtf?...but in jw lingo of course.
see i knew in that instant...that very moment....that i had been lied to my entire life...and my stack of doubts i had been piling on the shelf and waiting on jehovah were all valid....and i knew i would never fit in again...not even with my wife and son...that i would never be the spiritual head they needed and wanted.....that was almost 4 years ago...man time flies...and yep...now i am separated from my jw wife...and yep...i did not fit in...not even with her...and my son is older now and moved out but we are not close.

I felt for you but do feel similarly to aligot ripounsous. Your other posts indicate that you have love for your wife so am surprised that you saw leaving as the only solution. I can see you are a passionate person and I am not in full possession of all the facts so am in no position to judge but was just surprised.

It's always disconcerting to loose hold of firm beliefs. I remember the Simpson cartoon where Lisa sends the barbeque pig rolling down the road and Homer chases after it saying "It's still good" Only when it falls in the river and floats away completely does he admit that it is not still good.
