One thing is for sure, there is defiantly a problem. How about a temporary ban on commenting on others postings dealing with war topics. This would allow us to post news and items of interest without it turning into an argument. I don’t know if this is possible but it might simmer things down a bit, and I would still like to be able to post and read war topics if possible. Or one day suspensions for personal attacks coupled with a short term zero tolerance policy.

Would it be better to have a halt to war topics ?
by Simon inunfortunately, it seems that people are unable or unwilling to debate or discuss the war and stay civil.
people are accused of all sorts of extremes such as "advocating child torture and rape" if you are against the war or "being a mass murderer and war criminal" if you support it.. some people seem to want to be able to post anything they want and it be accepted verbatim while other people are denied an opinion that doesn't agree with theirs.. i for one am sick of it and i suspect that other people are too.. this is supposed to be a site for jw related issues.
not exclusively but primarily.

My question was how did this f*uck-up happen. Since one prisoner was a woman this was not a ‘combat unit’ but probably a supply unit. Why was not the supply column moving with protection?

Trama,
- I think the Americans are attempting to show that if people surrender they will be treated humanly
- I think the Iraqis were simply gloating and mistreating prisoners.
- You can either see this point or not there is no use in arguing.

I don’t think the issue is that they showed prisoners of war, it think the issue is that they showed the interrogation of the prisoners of war. It’s a big difference. In addition, I don’t equate the pictures of Iraqi prisoners taken by the Americans with these pictures. The pictures of the Iraqi POWs show them being fed, getting medical attention, and being treated humanly. I really don’t expect that American POWs will receive the same treatment.

"Shock and Awe" and the hebrew word Shekina.
by Trauma_Hound inhas anyone notice the similarity of this "shock and awe" campaign and the hebrew word shekina, do you think it's a coincidence, since bush a devout born again christian?.
"shekinah means "presence of god" and relates to the feminine aspect of the holy trinity.
it is the energy that sanctifies from within the dimension of matter or the holy spirit.

The term and method of 'Shock and Awe' was developed by some guy at the pentagon around 1996. Bush didnt come up with the term or the strategy. The skull and crossbones is in essence a frat.

A Muslium American kills fellow soldier
by JT init will be interesting to see what happens to muslium soldiers who are serving in the us miltary.
it could be a serious backlash for these folks.
when folks belief systems are tested it is very hard to tell how it will play out.

Fox news reported that the officers he attacked were not in his command chain. He was actually in a separate unit that was attached to these guys. If it was simply disgruntled GI fragging wouldn’t he have done his own officers in?

Just my opinion here, but you all might want to do yourselves a favor () and quit arguing about the war. In just a brief time, we will see if this war was a good idea or a bad one. If Bush just wants to kill babies and steal oil or make Iraq into a paradise. Everyone’s opinion is on record and no one is changing his or her minds anymore so let us just wait and see.

Robyn,
I don't know of anyone attempting to deny your right to protest peacefully. I do know of some protestors that attempt to deny my right to criticize them. Free speech runs both directions.
