When my dad was in vietnam around 68 and 69 he said the only fresh meat you could get was dog meat. There was a little taco stand that sold dog meat tacos, he said they were good. Not better than beef but better than eating a rotting chicken.

here is an editorial from today's newspaper, the columbus dispatch: evil lifestyle getting country into trouble thursday, september 11, 2003. .
when i heard about the world trade center being struck by airplanes, i thought it was because our country had become like sodom and gomorrah, with all the crime, murders, drinking, gambling, cursing, nakedness, adultery and abortion.
i thought god had lifted his protection from us, and he was letting the ungodly take over.
That type of polar, black and white thinking is common world wide. Out here in california it is not relgion that is the backdrop for peoples dogma, its issues like the enivironment. People develop these viewpoints that cannot be tested and any attempted to question them is a form a heresy. Basically, its not just religion, but the pattern in that person's letter is the pattern of thought used by extremist of every political shade.
Unqestioned Dogma is everywhere.

have any of you on this forum, ever met up with anyone considered famous?
i've met a great deal of people over the years.
one of my most memorable: dennis leary, drinking a few pints with him as he sang "margaritaville" from the jukebox.
I've seen many Canadian celebrities
Canada has celebrities, who knew?
I once met Jesus in a half pipe thats about it.

religious claims are commonly unverifiable.
everybody and anybody can claim that they : 1) are god's true people.
and 2) have god's exclusive favor.. however, various scientists around the world are testing the idea that prayer can heal.
Actually, if prayer were found to have healing benefits with a scientific study; all that study would prove would be the benefit of prayer. You could not take this finding and use it to prove the existence of some god because you would be attributing meaning to the act of prayer that may not be there. Maybe it would be the simple act of prayer that is healing in itself with out the benefit of any outside power actually aiding the petitioner. You see you are making a logical leap, benefits of prayer, if proved, does not equal proof of a god.

okay noone make fun of me but i am truly *geeked* about my lions this year!
i scored some really and i mean really cheap tix for todays home opener for my son and i. i have always wanted to get to a home opener and for the first time in my life: i did!!!!
we had so much fun and i screamed so much that i'm a bit hoarse...lol!
The Bears quarterback is a guy named Kordell Stewart, former steeler QB. All I can say to bear fans out there is welcome to hell.
I think Stewart might be able to do well in the right type of offensive scheme. He is a runner with the ability to make people miss, his passes tend to be inaccurate and he often misses reads and hot routes. If Stewart played on a team that ran the option he could be dangerous, but no pro team is willing to risk their QB in that way. Basically watching Stewart over the years here is what I think he needs.
1. Running plays designed for him and put in the offence
2. Never drop back to pass always rolling out to strong or weak side
3. Short passes only, nothing greater than 15 yards
4. Simplified reads for blitzes and the such
5. A team with an extremly strong run game

Im a huge life long steelers fan.
The steelers rocked today, their offence is fab. Next week will be a good test as they go to KC and face what, at least by todays game, appears to be a greatly imporved D and an offense that can throw. I am picking the steelers to win the AFC north but that is not saying much this year. I am not going to get too excited until I see how pittsburgh holds up to another good offensive team.
I watchted the New York, Rams game. Warner looked tired and confused. Of couse he was nailed several times today as his O-line did little to help him. Overall both teams were less than impressive, but New York looked somewhat better than the rams.

well, the upcoming nfl season is about to start in two days, with my team the new york jets being involved in the opening game.
now i was a little discouraged when our starting qb chad pennington (the best in the nfl) went down earlier in the preseason with an injury that will keep him out for more than half the season, but fortunately for the jets, they're one of the few nfl teams with a backup qb that can be a quality starter, so i don't expect that we will have much of a drop off with vinny testaverde taking the reigns temporarily.
he'll surpass 40,000 career passing yards this year, and he also has a stronger arm than does pennington, so look for deep plays to the wide receivers.
I am a huge steeler fan, I am picking them to win AFC N but they dont have the secondary to get to the big game.
Superbowl will consist of Denver Broncos vs. New York Giants, Denver Wins

hello all...i hope ya'll have had a good summer and all...mine was (...well...) pretty crappy.
anyway, i have a new room mate @ my university now.
it's my fourth one in less than a full year (i think).
Have you tried talking to her directly and telling her how you feel? Also, dont worry most born-againers have about a six month life span out of the nest and then they go crazy. By june you might be living with a Bob Marly clone.

it used to be a happy place, but now there were too many people, too much arguing.
some had more than they borrowed, but this meant that others had less, since there were only a certain number of coins issued in the first place.
"there are four things that must be available for paid work to take place:.
I read about half of this. Its really to simplistic. The main point to remember is that the government does pull the strings on who much money is printed. And if the dept owed is too much governments can print lots of money, causing inflation, but making the monthly payments much easier. Its called monitizing (sp?) the dept.
Also, as long as the population grows, the economy grows. So the 5 gold coins owed back to the guy is in the economy at the end of the year, even if it is not there at the begining, theoritically.
Basically, either monitizing the dept or growing out of it is how governments pay off loans.

i'm sure i'm not the only mom here who would love to exchange ideas for kids' school lunches.
i don't know about anyone else, but my daughters' school (junior kindergarden - grade 8) has a nut-free policy that requires compliance for the good of the kids who have severe allergies to nuts.
pre-packaged foods have to be carefully examined for even traces of nuts.
I personally am fond of beer and cigars, but I am not sure what the school smoking policy is where you live.
