Any students in here?

hello everyone, i was just wondering if anybody else was in college and if so what classes they are taking.

i am currently a senior and will graduate in 3 semesters with a degree in information systems.

i am a little older than most of my classmates since i didnt go to college directly after highschool, this decsion was based on the fine spirtual food provided by wtbts.

here's an article from the frontlines, written for the new york times.

i think it shows that some iraqis are starting to understand that the american coalition is there to help them.

i think it shows that some iraqis are starting to understand that the american coalition is there to help them.

The Iraqi people have a lot of fear. They don’t trust us and they are terrified of Saddam. They are afraid we are going to leave them high and dry like we did in 91 when we made the mistake of listening to the idiotic UN.
In Alaska, they have a statewide revenue sharing plan where every state resident gets some of the oil revenue. I would love to see something like that implemented for the Iraqis. Imagine how much Saudi Arabia and Iran would crap themselves if we gave the oil revenue directly to the Iraqi people. Both countries would have a revolution within three months.

Murals in Iraq.....proof~?

i, like many people here failed to see the connection between the events of 9/11 and saddam.

my first inclination was to think that bush was targeting saddam because he couldn't find osama, or something like that...... yesterday, i saw a few different reporters on tv who either spoke of or showed a mural in iraq of the world trade center bombing.

i was a lovely portrait of the airplanes crashing into the towers................this spoke volumes to me!

I don’t think the mural is indicative of guilt, it just shows someone was happy it happened and expressed their opinion with paint. However, velvet Elvi (what’s the plural from of Elvis) are a form of murder

"Bush fiddles with economy while Baghdad burns"

an interesting article which somewhat reflects my own take on what i see happening.

please note that this does not put any judgement on whether i think it is a good thing or not so please do not "shoot the messenger".. whether you believe or accept the points or not it is an interesting read.

i personally think that the action bush has taken in the last few years has done more harm to the usa than it's enemies ever could which is surely a crime?..

Yeah Azalo, there is a shortage of people over here in the states speaking out against the war because they all get fired from the jobs.

Joe Lieberman was booed at the Democratic convention in California (about two weeks ago) when he spoke out in favor of the war. Where his rights violated? Did the democratic delegates participate in ‘McCarthyism’? Or did the just express there opinions in line with their constitutional rights? It seems that when anyone criticizes someone’s opinion charges of McCarthyism are immediately laid upon the critic. Free speech runs both directions.

The Dixie chicks alienated their audience; people do not have a constitutional obligation to buy their records. Recording stars and movie stars are not like average citizens, it is a field where enraging you core audience is not a good idea. For the common worker however no one is being fired because they are pro/anti war. If the do they would have a wonderful wrongful termination case on their hands.

280 million people live in America, somewhere some idiot is going to fire someone because they disagree with there politics, and this statistically insignificant number does not disprove my above argument.

Some quick notes on the first article:

Rise in terrorism? Maybe yes and maybe no, time will tell.

Maybe the UN should enforce its own resolutions next time.

The Budget deficit is a problem and should be reduced. Some of this is a problem of Bush’s creation and some not. The tax cuts are a bad idea.

Deregulation works sometimes and sometimes it does not. I do not believe in a completely free economy, few Americans do. The debate is how much regulation is necessary and where. I believe France and Germany have very regulated economies, and their economies are shrinking. Anyway, I must wonder why the author believes that every economy must be a carbon copy of Americas for the American economy to function; he did not support this assertion.

Kyoto treaty was one sided and would have unfairly harmed the US economy. However, this is really beside the point because the article was blaming Bush for this. No senators voted for the Kyoto treaty, and the Clinton administration refused to push it. It was dead before Bush came to town, so if you want to blame someone blame Clinton.

I think you need a specific mindset to ‘buy into’ this article. Specifically you need to see America as an ‘empire’ that needs to ‘export’ its ideology. And, you also need to believe that a 2 year recession after an 8 year economic boom is not indicative of a business cycle but is really evidence of an unsound economy.
