The woman I saw interviewed was expressing her sorrow at being vilified in a racist manner, and I thought she was absolutely right in what she said. Her comment just told me that at least in Egypt, the 'person in the street' would treat her as an equal, not as a 'filthy Muslim terrorist' just because she is of the Arab race.

The show I saw the women had no actual events of racism. She just felt people were staring at her at a mall. Basically her definition of racism was 'white people make me feel creepy.'.

So I have to ask from the show:

How was she vilified?
Where things said to her?
Was this a common occurence or one act?
What happened to the purpertrator?
Where the cops called?

Many Muslim's cases of racism are pure fiction, they boil down to arkward feelings or precieved looks. There were some actual cases of people attacking muslims after 9/11 (about 15 and 2 deaths). If it was 1/365th as bad here as the muslims would like people to believe the Muslims would be headed out of here in droves. Bullshit is these peoples middle names.

Its not a bad thing. People like simon, etc, etc, are changing the argument into one more to their liking. No one is kicking anyone out, no one even mentioned it other than simon and a few other like minded ones. No one is saying anyone should be silient or forced to leave. I just want to know why these people stay here if they hate it so much. I would leave in a hart beat if I was so 'oppressed' and countires with greater 'freedoms' were just a boat ride away.

Most of the hate america crowd are completly full of dung.

The question is if America's action resulted in less death or more. Either action (to drop the bomb or not) was going to result in 'innocent' death. My point is the action that results in the least amount of death is the moral act. Sometimes killing civillians is moral when it results in less civilian death later; this is not hard. It just takes the realization that the world is a grey place with no moral absolutes.

You have not proved you assertion that japan was ready to surrender by quoting non-peer reviewed sources or single snipits of opinions from generals that carrers were terminated by Truman.

When reading history always ask your self who is talking.

Amac,

I dont think you should leave. If you love the democratic process then stay. This does not say that things couldnt be made better with issues like voter reform, and contribution reform. But I would like to know why the poeple that hate this country, feel a dictator in Eygpt is a better system stay here. If people really believe that way or think everything about American is racist, and vile why dont they go somewhere they like better?

Or maybe she is just full of sh^t. Alot of people learn early on to cry descrimination in America even when there is none. Like that girl from the interview what was the big tragedy that befell her. She thought people stared at here when she went to the mall. No one said anything to her no one stoped her from doing anything she just felt this general sense of oppression.

Anyway Simon who said anything about kicking anyone out. I said if people hate it here and they hate the system why stay.

Once again to recap:

She had no specific act of racism just a general 'white people freak me out vibe'
She felt things were better in Eygpt
No one is forcing her out
I would like to know why she chooses to stay someplace she hates

I am responding becuase I think this might help you understand history. You must always look at who is talking and what motivation they have.

For example Douglas MacArthur hated Trumen you know the guy that dropped the Bomb. You think that discrediting Truman might have had something to do with his statement. Always check out your source that way you will not get played.

Also I sited facts of what happened:

On onkinawa even with a vastly inferior army the loss of life was great
this would indicate that even with a completly reduced or nearly destroyed army the causilties of attacking japan would have been extreme
Even if the Emperor and some millitary and civillian government wanter to surrender they couldnt the army would not let them
Attacking Japan would have cost a terrible amount of lives both American and Japanese

Alot of you information is quotes of peoples opinions, not the same as evidence. And subject to bias.

If you can give me the title of one peer reviewed book that supports your claims I will read it and tell you what I think.

Disagreement is one thing. Blinding hate for your country is another. Not being I child I can differentiate between the two. I once saw and interveiw with a Muslim girl that claimed she felt more freedom in Eygpt then New York. I though to myself, then why stay. It's an honest question, if you hate this country if you feel you are oppressed why stay. If I was 'oppresed' and would be treated as an equal in Eygpt I would be on the boat by noon.

My feeling is the percent of people spewing this rhetoric that actually believe it is low. Most of these people are just self rightous trolls.

BTW: I do disagree with many of the things my country does, but I think the system they have for doing it is the best.

Dude I am not going to continue this argument with you past this post. First, your source is flawed. Members of the government and some millitary might have wanted to surrender, but there is no way they could have, the army would have never allowed it. Even after the dropping of the Atomic Bombs some Army officers didnt want to surrender and attempted (but failed) to start a coup. The Japanese were not going to surrender, they were going to fight just like they did on okinawa, where underslupplied and overmatched they created a great deal of blood letting on both sides.

In all seriousness picking one source ( are sources all having a simialr viewpoint) and then forming wild historical views is a flawed practice. It is indicitive on an individual that wants to find information to fit his own preconcivied idea.

America:

Has failed in a large way in Asia, allowing millions to die in Cambodia through well intentioned by failed policies
Has like the rest of the world failed Africa (800K dead in a genocide while the world watched)
Has issues with Racism but is much better today that 20 years ago and a completly different country than it was 40 years ago
Has supported bastards in Central and South America when we probably did not have to

I can admit when America fails, but I will not change history just to suit your prejudices.

Kent State serves two lessons.

First, dont throw bricks at 19 year old boys with machine guns. They did not make the rules the politicians did, they did not order themselves to deploy the generals did. Throwing rocks and bricks at 19 year olds is chicken shit behavior. Use the process and change the laws.

Second, the national guard cannot shoot. What was it like 7 hippies killed. I could have bagged 7 hippes with a bolt action rifle, with an m-16 I could have brought down like 20 easy. We really need to teach the national guard to shoot better. I guess the trick is to realize hippies cant run very fast they are too stoned. They do tend to weave and not run in a straight line thought. So the trick is dont lead them as much and bracket them in with about three shots, that should do the trick.
