I hate alcohol, the taste is terrible. I hate the ‘druggy’ life-style. But I love weed. I mean I love weed. I used to smoke the stuff pre-witness, and if they ever legalize the stuff I am headed to the store.

By the way I am a republican so of course you label me as 'sheeple' or a 'redneck' but I can site several places on this board where I disagreed with Bush, or Republicans in general.
My view is the left is truly made up of sheepel. I would like you william to show me someplace where you disagree with the party of you choice. My view is that most of the left is driven by hatered of bush and no real sense of what would be best for this country.
Once again to recap:
- I can and do disagree with my party on several issues
- When I do disagree with my party I bring the issue up
- I doubt you do
- If anyone blindly accepts their entire party platform they are not thinking but reacting

William,
I am not sure if you are even reading anyone’s posts. No one is telling anyone to leave anywhere. People were offering people that hate this place a 1-year trip out free. My question was different; I asked why people that hate this place so much stay? I was not telling anyone to leave I just want to know why they do not? That is not the same thing as telling someone to leave. Duh.
On the other hand what if I was, if I wanted to tell people to leave I could. THAT WOULD BE MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH, you don’t have to like it you just have to deal with it.
Your grasp of California politics is distorted at best. Dems hate davis just like republicans. His approval rating is in the low 20’s lower than any other politician ever. It’s not just the republicans. The method used to remove him has been a well-established law for many years. Below I have some figures for you that you might gain understanding as to why California’s budget is so screwed.- 21 % the amount the demand for California’s services have grown since Davis took over (a function of inflation and population growth)
- 28% the amount California’s income has grown since Davis took over
- 39% the amount Davis increased spending over that of Pete Wilson
Davis got some bad bounces but he misplayed every single one of them. He has never had a novel solution to any problem and attempts to stay in power by buying off special interest groups. The entire state hates him.
For your information I am a republican but I thought what they did to Clinton was wrong. I can dig up my old posts on the topic from this board if you want to see them. The way you blanket label anyone is indicative of your bigotry.

STOP Ashcroft! Sign this Petition
by badwillie inalready 42,938 americans have stood up today in defense of civil liberties.
as attorney general john ashcroft began his tour of the country to promote an expansion of the patriot act, the american people are signing a petition demanding that ashcroft "stop compromising our freedoms; stop eroding our basic civil rights; stop trying to teach our neighbors to spy on each other, and american communities to mistrust each other.".
if you haven't yet signed the petition to stop ashcroft, do so here:.

At first blush I dont think the powers of the patriot act need to be expanded. But before I sign any petittion I am going to read more about it. Thats why I have not sounded off here, I dont have enough background information to form an opinion yet. Although I am not a right winger I am a Bush supporter so you probably consider me a right winger.

I would date Simon.
Im not gay and neither is he but I think over the course of one dinner I could deprogram him and get him thinking clearly on political issues. And if that does not work he gets to be the girl.

The US military INTENTIONALLY KILLS innocent people??? Where?? When???
by Stan Conroy inthis question was posed by yeru in another post.
i have no interest in getting involved in that post, but this is an interesting question.
supporters of the us feel that there country alone is on the moral high ground, and incapable of such an act.

Note that the flights to drop the bombs were unchallenged ... also Tokyo was being 'bombed at will'. The war was already over.
The Japanese air force was defeated, did that stop the Japanese from fighting on okinawa? I mean with no air force or tanks to speak of okinawa was a cake walk for the Americans right? Also the Japanese didnt waste AA shells on single American bombers becuase they assumed that they were recon flights and not on a bombing mission.
You take facts of history and instead of interelating them with the reality of what was happening at the time you attempt to use them as single threads to support your distorted views. Examples:
- You quote American Generals but dont take their bias into account or even the context of their discussion
- You site American air supperioty as a sign the Japanese were done, the reality was completly different the japanese were quite willing to fight without tanks, or airplanes helping them. These people were not the french.
In short instead of looking at all the facts from an event and attempting to find an explanation where everything fits, you pull single threads of facts and attempt to use them to draw conclusions while ignoring the lions share of the evidence.
Once again reality disturbs your view of the 'truth' (BBC quote marks added form emphasis)
America has made mistakes this was not one of them, find something else to justify you American hate with.

No Simon thats not what I wrote and you know it. America's actions saved both American and Japanese lives. If you read anything with intelectual honesty you would see that.
You evidence made up of questionable sources and quotes from generals that hated Truman is a joke. But, it fits with the world view of what you want to believe. You want to see all of Americans actions as evil, if you didnt find evidence in that from you current sources you would find others more towards your taste. Basically, you dont read information to discover what is, you look for sources to reaffirm what you have already chosen to believe.
Once again I will attempt to explain it to you. If you are confronted with only two choices both of which are bad. Choice 1, kills 200 thousand people in a short period of time. Choice 2, kills 2 million people over years which of the two is the moral. The obvious choice is 1 you however cant stomach that becuase you would be agreeing with Americans so you find a source of wild revisionist history, and single line quotes from generals that hated truman to give you a 'reality' that you find more palatable with your prejudices.

You go stinky and keep focused on your goal. I thought about trying to work for the FBI, I dont know though if they have an age cut off. Im 35, god Im old but am going to graduate with honors in december. Some people told me that if you want to work for the FBI you need to learn another language, they really like mandrin, spanish, and middle eastern languages now.
Good luck to you.
