i figured i'd start off by just examining the language used in the july 15th, 2011 watchtower, page 15-16, paragraphs 4-7.. apostates are like:.

1. ravenous wolves.

9. their own ideas.

When was the last time I, or indeed any stable person, said when you disagreed with them about scripture, "HEY! Where else is there to go for truth, but to ME? I TAUGHT YOU EVERYTHING YOU KNOW!" It's tantamount to the organization saying, I am the Truth. No one comes to God except through me. It's not even really disguising that, either, just flat out saying it. "The organization through which you learned these truths."

I pointed this out on another thread but it bears repeating here as they reference John 6:66-69 at the end of this paragraph. Replacement of Jeuss with "organization"

There they say:

Why, then, allow yourself to be soured by anyone who would denigrate the organization through which you learned these truths?—John 6:66-69.

This whole magazine seems to be a finger in the dam that is leaking all over the place.

Witnesses are finding out the truth about the truth everywhere. On the internet and on TV is one thing.

But now many are finding out about it from their grown children, thus causing more long timers to leave.

Information control at all costs- even your family.

sir82 I agree with that take. Usually you just get the passing reference at the CA or DC to stay away. Maybe the traditional "Keep the computer in a public room" with porn being the reason, with apostate sites being the real target.

It seems that GB 2.0 didn't read the notes from the early 80s apostacy. Bringing too much attention to the issue is just going to make people curious.

Page 28, paragraph 16, 17

We can enter into Jehovah’s rest—or join him in his rest—by obediently working in harmony with his advancing purpose as it is revealed to us through his organization.

Holy crap...I just found this quote on page 16, paragraph 7. Check the scripture referenced:

The last article is titled "God's Rest - Have you entered Into It" which is a really weird argument.

According to the article, entering into Gods rest means following the org unconditionally, (of course) because they are more interested in presenting correct new light than taking criticism for their changes. Oh, and of course it also means shunning the hell out of your kids that leave the org when they figure out it is a big scam.

I'm sure there will be dozens of threads on the specifics of this WT. My overall impression- they are running scared at this point- they can't stop the internet.

last friday, a woman i work with, who reminds me of scully from the x-files, asked me to hang out with her and her friends at a watering hole not that far from where we work.

she and her friends get off roughly an hour before i get off, and considering the amount of work i had on my desk at the time, and the amount of time i wasted on here, i knew it'd would be a while before i caught up with them.

so i told her i'll try, but i won't get off until roughly 6:30pm or later.

I guess I don't get what is holding you back. Aren't you ready to leave?

Establishing ties outside of the WT will make your life much easier once you start getting shunned, whether it be officially or just becasue you stop attending.
