  lil, page 9? That is a long letter! Is it on the internet? I would love to read if you have it posted somewhere...

  What is really saddening though, is that about 3 weeks after he left one of the ministerial servants killed himself. I'm sure he had other problems, but the point is that Cunningham's incessant browbeating did NOTHING to assist or build up a distressed soul who had bouts of depression. Meanwhile this mean-spirited CO goes his merry way and thinks he is serving God. A wife is left without a husband and two children without a dad. I believe that this Cunningham is partly responsible.

  This is sad indeed. Some JWs simply crack under the heavy burden the WT places on them. This CO could have added the straw that broke the camel's back.

  The Internet and appointed JW positions

  does anybody remember a letter from the org which discouraged appointed ms and elders from having a page on facebook or having a presence on the internet?

  and that it could lead to deletion or affect their appointment?.

  I don't recall an actual letter to the bodies being posted here. There were lots of warnings at recent elder/MS schools.

  I think they want everyone off of FB, but if they threaten to revoke Elder/MS status on that alone, they will find many will give them the finger and say I'll keep my FB account instead.

  I know of at least 3 current elders with active FB accounts.

  Blind allegiance is what they demand. No studying Greek on your own and trying to really understand what the scriptures say. And even if you do, so what? You are just a peon and we are the GB. I guess a lot of JWs are still ignoring the directive in the 07 KM about studying too much and figuring out that the GB is just blowing smoke up their rear end.

  Has anyone gotten a jw convention tract yet?

  a jw man just stopped by about an hour ago and offer me a convention tract which i respectfully declined.

  i just went to take some trash out and found a tract on my neighbor's door and i promtly took it.

  i think i remember some folks on the board have already received a tract from drop in jws.

  I believe the dictate from on high is to distribute two weeks before the convention in your area, so it all depends on the timing of the DC in your area.

  Theme of the talk should be "Sit around and wait" Wait on the GB. Wait on Jehovah. Oh and Jehovahs waits on the GB now! That was an incredible line!

  Absolutely disgusting. So many mentions of "Governing Body" I just lost my lunch. Must have been said 150 times in that talk.

  Pretty weird the discussion about dreams and how a member of the GB would take it to the other members for consideration. I wonder which current GB member is having special dreams from Jah?

  in matthew, jesus lines out all the signs of the last days.

  he puts a stipulation on it saying that nobody will know the day or the hour.

  does that not mean that nobody could know the last days as well?

  Read Luke 21:8

  Then look up in the WT CD-Rom how many times they comment on that scripture. I think they refer to it once in the 60's.

  They know they are violating that scripture by all of their last days fearmongering, that is why they never talk about it.

  What would the world be like if everybody was a Jehovah Witnesses

  on the news the other day they showed a young man after graduating from high school went out and got drunk and had a bad car accident.

  he was paralyze from the waist down.

  instead of going into deep depression of what he did to himself he started his life over and went to college and was involved in inventing a exoskeleton for disable people.

  Like others have already stated, its just another tool used by the WT to brainwash their followers.

  Cults claim to have "special knowledge" that others don't. Part of having "special knowledge" is being different. Thats all it is, being different for the sake of being different. It doesn't matter to the rest of the world, only to JWs.
