Heads Up: If you are an older JW, WT has no further use for you!
by AndDontCallMeShirley inwt is retiring district overseers, has sent older jws serving at bethel packing despite years of faithful service, and as of june 1, 2014, has announced that any elder that has reached 80 years of age is no longer valued or wanted as a cobe.
in wt land it would appear that older people have little or no value, and wt sees no reason to use them in any meaningful capacity.
i wonder how this makes older ones feel after devoting their lives to wt's interests while shelving their own hopes and dreams?.

I know there have been rumors about the WT using an outside marketing consultant, I wonder if they are true.
A lot of these changes may be in response to a firm looking at them and saying "you are too old, young people do not like this"

Ha! Isn't this the letter they got all uptight with Cedars' about and filed a DCMA against him? What are they gonna do now? Cry to the government of Australia?
Any lurkers pay close attention to point 13, the elders have their hands tied by the branch by telling them only they can determine who is a 'predator'. How they do this from thousands of miles away is beyond my comprehension. Thus, elders aren't allowed to warn parents unless 'mother' says its OK to do so.
Sick pedo protecting religion.

i saw an article from last year's watchtower about a guy who had barely been mormon for very long, and obviously did not know what we believe, who was given this magazine by jw's to show him "the truth.
" he claims to have proven to himself that it was true from information on the lds church's website.

The thing is, it doesn't matter how smart/dumb a person is when they are involved in a cult, and under mind control. We all know "smart and intelligent" people who will go to the grave believing in the WTS.
So we ask, why?
Because intelligence doesn't matter when you are under mind control. Like Magnum's friends, who may know something isn't quite right, but they can't quite get out, because they don't want to lose their position, or their family, or friends, or simply are just comfortable giving up a portion of their lives because they 'feel important' because they give talks out every month and ten people come up to them afterwards and thank them for giving the talk.
That is why all of this talk about the cult crumbling into oblivion is just plain bull. It won't go away because of simply human nature. People want to feel important as one of their primal needs, and the WTS fulfills that need. Being a soldier of Jah is very high on the list of being an important person, no matter how much you fail in every other aspect of life...

Negative growth will happen, probably within a decade. But that doesn't matter anymore. All that they want is a dedicated, hard core base that will give both time and money.
Money is the new push. After that, will be their time, not so much in FS, but in builing new Kingdom Halls and assembly buildings. Expect them to give field service credit for everyone spending time on the RBC. Time will jump over 2 billion quickly as publishers jump all over the opportunity to spend time with the RBC instead of knocking on empty doors.

Its a one time grab, plus more.
Really, how much have JWs donated in the last two decades? A hall of 100 gives $500 to the WW work? That ain't shit.
The WT needed to institute a tithe without calling it a tithe. If they came out in the next Kool Aid WT and said you must donate 10% of your income, it would wake people up and they would flee in droves.
So they institute this, with plenty of cover because many halls are already paying loans. These halls are happy as clams, saying its a blessing from Jehoopla because their loan is gone! Of course because they are under mind control, they do not calculate that their loan payment has been extended until Armageddon, under the guise of a donation.
And everyone else who doesn't have a loan passes a resolution to chip off a few hundred a month, with some promise of a free KH or remodel in the future.
Where things get interesting is in the next five or ten years. Will these halls really get a remodel, or will mother just sell the property out from under them, pocket the cash, and tell them to drive an extra 5 to 25 miles to another hall?
